Hi guys. Getting my hands on my newest Elise ('06 111r).

It's not been abused, but it has not been looked after either. Needs a few hours of TLC and should be good to go cosmetically. It was kept outside. Now kept in my garage.

I'm inclined to set the soft top up and give it a jet wash as it is a bit green on the edges and along the drainage channels. Should I treat the roof with anything afterwards or just leave it to drain and dry and back on again?

Other valet related questions to follow I suspect!

Many thanks,

Nick

You are probably advised to clean the roof whilst it is on the car so that it has some tension on the fabric. One of the detailers will I am sure advise you in a while that you shouldn't really use a pressure washer on the roof, though if you do, make sure that it is kept a distance from the roof & at a very shallow angle. I had a Boxster with a similar problem & used the AG roof kit & a soft brush to work the solution over it making sure after that all the cleaning suds were well washed off. The AG kit I think also comes with a reproofing solution. It might take you 2 goes to get it clean.

Bought the AG twin spray kit from Halfords today and rather enjoyed cleaning the roof in the sun.

It came up well and addressed the green residue too.

Nice that I could get the roof off and place it away from the car to save overspray.

Thanks, Nick
