Hi there,
First time posting! Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if any of the early Esprits ever made it across The Irish Sea? Was in Stephen's Green car park about 10 years ago and saw one. Was very tempted to leave a note under the wiper to ask if the owner ever thought of selling? However had no pen or paper to hand and this was before camera phones. It was an early white car. Can't remember if it was an Irish reg. so could well have been an English car just visiting.
Any help is much appreciated.

I've seen a few of them over here through the years.
I've also seen a few advertised on Carzone / CBG / DoneDeal / etc from time to time so I'd reckon if you keep your eyes open and aren't in a huge hurry to get one then one will turn up before too long.
The members of the Irish Lotus Club also have a forum section on Octane.ie so it might be worth asking there if anyone knows of a car that might suit you.

Cheers for the advice Ireland. Have kept an eye on those sites alright and have seen the odd S4 pop up now and again. However have a fondness for the S1 in particular even though I've heard they can need regular looking after.
Will check out your suggestion of The Octane forum. Fingers crossed!
Thanks again!

There are a few early cars here, I have an 82 Turbo myself. There is a white '86 S3 in Tipperary that may be the one youve seen. A '82 S3 with a rover V8 just poped up on Donedeal, I've never seen this car before and its still on UK plates.Hope to have my own car back on the road again in the next year.

Thanks for the tip off VIZ139. I just had a browse there and it's a nice looking car. Might even go take a look. Always liked the look of the turbos also. What colour is your car out of curiosity? Will keep an eye out if you get her back on the road for the summer. I do prefer the earlier Giugiaro designed cars. It was definitely a series one that I spotted in The Green as it had the tartan/green interior with orange carpets(very 70's!). Perhaps not to everyones taste but this was how the early cars came trimmed from the start of production in '76. Think they switched in early '77 to a velour type material in more traditional trim colours. There was also a Fedora hat on top of the engine bay cover, but no bullwhip so I can rule out Mr.Jones as the owner!
Thanks again for your help.

Beautiful car! That's something you don't see very often especially in that copper paint. Stunning! Did spot a white turbo in Carrickmines car park about two summers back. Had departed by the time I returned to my car however. The early turbos really do have presence. Best of luck with the fettling.
