After driving my cooper s to work over the last couple of days, after leaving it in the car park and going back to it after my shift there has been condensation on the inside of my windows ??? I don't quite understand why? This may sound stupid to some people but is there a reason for this and how can I avoid it??

It is like someone has been doing the naughty in my car hehe

My commute to work is only about 5 minutes as well.

I'd suspect damp somewhere in the car, maybe a leaking heater matrix?

Mine has been doing same! checked this morning and boot was quite wet under toolbox. These cars let quite a lot of rain water in when you open the back up.

Mine does this on a sunny winter's day. I have checked the car for damp, had the air con re-gassed and have now resorted to a screen wipe in the car. It has been doing this since I bought it in 2005 and no-one has been able to find the source. Something to do with more humid air on the inside being heated by the sun and then when the sun goes down the outside temperature drops suddenly and the condensation forms on the windscreen. The only way I have found to stop it is to park it with the winscreen facing the West so the condensation forms on the rear screen, then at least I can blast the heated screen on and still be able to drive.

Wouldn't panic yet. I walked by the Mini dealers at dusk the weekend before last and all the cars were full of condensation. Could well just be the weather at the moment, it being quite warm & damp in the day and then suddenly dropping in temperature when the sun sets.

My wife picked up a new mini cooperD at the weekend. She drove it to work today and left it parked up all day.when she returned to the car in the evening the windscreen was so wet she had to use two towels to clear the water before she could drive home. Not a good result on her first mini experience.I will call the dealer in the morning to see if it is a known issue.Any further info that anyone has please let me know....thanks

In this stiutaion I would run the air-con for the length of the next few journeys. It removes the moisture from the air, lowering the interior humidity. Hopefully it won't build up again too quickly.

Ours has the same problem. I think there's a leak, possibly around the high level brake light.

It is best to get air throw the car as you drive, windows open at least a littal can make a big diffrance. It is worth checking for water leaks etc but do remeber that we make a large amount of water (breath on glass).

It happened again yesterday. Not as bad. Going to try drive with the air con on for a couple of minutes to clear the air.

? You should be driving with the AC at all times really, particularly in winter, otherwise the gas does not circulate and the lubricant is in the gas so you end up with dry pipes and potentially a damaged compressor.

I sometimes get an issue but I use these and it sorts itself out

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-X-SMALL-SPACE-DEHUMIDI...

It sucks up the excess moisture so less to condensate on the screen.
