Any idea why they're over here? We wondered what the hell it was at first as we just heard suddern bursts of what sounded like a jet engine and thought the wind was blowing a bit strong!

no idea, could be one of hundreds of reasons from bombing wolverhampton to giving a retiring base commander a jolly around his hometown at 500 mph....

They were flying near Malvern today as well. they are a rare sight around here - plenty of Tornados and Harriers (well, not any more) but I hadn't seen a Eurofighter here in the previous 6 years.

Cheers!

There was also a second twin-engined aircraft that accompanied them yesterday (like a cross between a lear jet and a Predator UAV), so I guess it'd be part of the same exercises smile

That was around today. I've got no idea what it was, same short of shape as a jet provost, cant be that though! It was far higher than the eurofighter and ciircling around

It seems there was a DA42 flying with them, and a strikemaster from kemble for some reason.

Typhoon - loud & low over Gloucester earlier this afternoon. Quick glimpse of it as it disappeared into the distance.

I saw one over Worcester on Tuesday. It was high doing big oval circuits. I was just pleased with myself that I'd actually identified an aircraft correctly!....(when I double checked on the net when I got home!)

Havent seen anything other than Tornadoes in Tewkesbury. Saw a couple of F15's circling around last Summer but never any Typhoons.
