Does the Daily Mail *ever* check its facts?

Hot on the heels of the Chris Brown lambo thread in general gassing where the article states "The livery is designed to look like an F-86, as flown by tom Cruise in Top Gun..."
Now we have this:

B52 bombers for the WW2 war effort...

The pictures were taken by Life magazine (who were famous for their colour phototography) at the North American Aviation factory in Downey, California.
I'm sure the "B-52" is a typo but it is a bit of a howler, especially as it's in the title rather than the body of the text and they should really have spotted it and corrected it by now.

not only filled with all the usual errors but old news too. these pictures were on another news site a couple of years ago when they were 'discovered'. there was one of a lady operating a milling machine that reminded me of my Gran. She made breach blocks for artillery at the Woolwich Arsenal factory. in fact most of the women pictured remind me of my Gran as she wore her hair like that for the rest of her life.
seems they have no qualms about recycling old news. someone posted this story on a Koi forum i visit.

It tells of how Freddie Mercury's million pound koi collection was nearly completely wiped out in a accident.
the article has today's date but the incident occurred around twelve years ago. the fish pictured was never owned by Mercury and is a three times UK national koi show champion, which by complete coincidence was supplied by the guy who valued the koi for the insurance claim!
his response:
"Hang on, is someone havin' a Steffi here?
That link to Mail Online has today's date on it.
AND they are using my Doris on the photo????
AND AND AND AND AND -
A firm of solicitors representing an electrical contractor's company contacted me in 2000 - ish and paid me to go 'darn sarf' and value a load of dead Koi belonging to the lady who inherited Freddie's house and garden.
The electrical contractor had been asked to re-do the garden lighting and they called in a Koi company to set up show ponds to house the Koi whilst they did the lighting.
Someone forgot to put an rcd on the show ponds and ALL the Koi had been electrocuted, so the lady was suing the electrical company for losses of Koi worth untold billions of wonga.
The only thing that could be said about the Koi were that they were 'big-ish', they certainly had never seen Japan.
I think there were around 35 'Koi' and wild carp and I couldn't even get the total value above £1,900.00.
Is this story for REAL?
If so, it has to be a new collection of Koi and certainly Freddie has never seen 'em.
Anyone out there who knows the truth of this?"
