Musings on Civil War
Discussion
Just a bit of random musing...
It seems, when you look at stable democracies, most have been through some sort of civil war/revolution in their past.
England, America, France, Spain etc.
Now it would appear that you aren't allowed to have a civil war without the UN or others poking their nose in and trying to stop it.
Is a civil war a phase a country has to go through to ultimately become a democracy?
Should we just let syria/lybia/afghanistan just get on with it?

There was quite a lot of nose poking in the previous civil wars you mentioned as well, it was a lot more direct nose poking than the UN is ever likely to do (think Condor Legions in Spain). It seems, when you look at stable democracies, most have been through some sort of civil war/revolution in their past.
