This thread topic is inevitable, it is a bit stereotypical but we all need to eat while we shuttle other folks tat about the land.
I am in far west cornwall so will kick off with a few food stops we use a lot and have found to be good.
Penzance, Sullivans cafe, right outside the Railway station next to the huge car park, does brekfasts and lunches, over night stops in the main carpark are possible so long as you get up and gone early.
St Erth, just outside of Hayle on the A30, Frankies Diner, an ex Unigate works canteen that was turned into a public cafe when Unigate packed up. It is good for luches and you can park artics outside.
Scorrier, A30, near Chiverton cross roundabout, It is a truck stop that has been goin for years, overnight parking in the rough yard and some over night facilities, good food.
We also stop off in Avonmouth Truckstop quite a lot, it is far enough away from home to be right about when we need to stop on a break plus the food is pretty good.
Cartgate, A303, the diner there was quite good but I think It has been removed or is being rebuilt at the moment, we have been running up the M4/5 recently so have not been up the 303 for a while.
If I think of any more I will post them up.

I can only comment on Lymm Services.
They do the job.

Unlikely anyone will ever be in the proximity of this one, but Nanna's Kitchen Newton Aycliffe Industrial estate (A167/Darlington exit on A1) do an excellent breakfast!

My thread has arrived - I love a good fry-up On my way to Portsmouth early on Sunday; A34, M3, M27 and looking for a greasy close-ish to Pompey for that last gut-busting breakfast before the 24h ferry trip. I'll be driving a fully-laden Volvo estate

I'm with Baz on this. Lymm will be hard to beat on price and quality. You're guaranteed to find a parking spot too with 700 odd truck spaces.

Showers, Wi-Fi, a pub, a half-decent canteen, a McDonald's, a barber, a CB Radio/beaded seat cover shop, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a Coffee Nation machine in the WH Smiths shop and, more recently, a Gregg's too. What more could you want?

My favourite has gone now: the Green Bus at Ambergate. Im the Simon in 'The Big Simon' - the biggest breakfast Ive ever seen, with all the tea and toast you could manage for a fiver.

There's a half decent butty van behind the lorry park on the M62 eastbound Hartshead Moor services. It's just through the service road barrier next to the recovery company depot. Not daft prices either.

Cartgate is where I saw the best bit of toilet-rendezvous-related graffiti ever. Someone had left their details and said they'd like to meet people "in TV gear"" on Thursdays. Underneath someone had written: "What? Like someone off Doctor Who?"
