I have been invited to a stag do to enjoy the racing and drinking for a long weekend, is there any groups going that might be able to keep a few pitches for us for the long weekend?

If I might be so cheeky, I might be going down earlier than those guys so has anyone got a passenger seat free with any of the friendly groups that I could possibly take and pay fuel costs for and someone to annoy/entertain them on the journey? Pick up in London.

Why don't you just book and pay like everybody else does? Try the agencies or ACO direct for camping.

Eh, I don't follow your query?

I was asking if anyone has a spare ride for fuel costs that they would otherwise pay themselves, and asking if one of the main groups can set aside some spaces... Im not looking to get it on the cheap or free.

Im not understanding you aggression with this?

Not entirely sure about all sites, but Houx, Houx Annex, Karting Nord all have numbered pitches so they will be there waiting for you. You buy a numbered spot so no one has to fence it off for you. That's the theory anyway !

Can't help you directly, but just anted to add that a group of us went as a stag weekend a few yeara ago, had a great weekend and then as the stag had an interest in WWII we went to some of the historic sites on the way home, Pegasus bridge, American war memorial etc.

Great way to have a stag weekend.

Get the lift bit, but have you actually booked a place on the campsites at the circuit?

Not sure a group who's paid out are willingly going to set aside/give up space and keep hold of it for people tagging on.

If there are camping tickets bought and you're going early then just set up and 'reserve' a bit of space. Of go for one of the numbered pitch sites.

Have to admit, Im not sure either !

Du1point8. Campsites are booked in advance of the weekend and generally marked with your personal booking number so even if you arrive 10 minutes before the race (in theory) they are reserved for you.
You may be able to go to the ACO office when you arrive and buy campsit tickets but I wouldnt risk that. Unfortunately, reserving unallocated space for friends/late arriving groups cant happen as its not set up like that. The only way of doing it like that, would be to buy unwanted plots from a group who have booked too many or where people have dropped out at the last minute. They will have space next to theirs which they couldd hold for you once you have paid.

This is why Im wondering if anyone knows of any groups out there that I can contact and see if they booked too many spaces, if so would they like to be paid for them rather than the group losing money.

I'd try the ACO ticket site to start with to get hold of tickets.

Nearer the race a buy/swap thread normally starts here, but if 12 of you are going, I'd rather get something sorted now.

The popular sites are normally sold out quite early.

I think you need to get on the phone now. The ACO won't help as the allocated pitch sites will be sold, but contact an agent and you may still get a block of pitches.
Is that 12 cars? or 12 people in 6 cars etc. Makes a big difference to price and likely hood of you getting pitches.
Forget the race tickets for now unless you want grandstands, but buy 1 pitch per vehicle.

What MadMacMcMad said. I think the likelihood of someone wanting to sell on 4-6 pitches which is probably what you need is very slim to put it mildly. Beausejour is probably your best bet and cheap ( if you don't mind a bit of a walk )

I''m a bit confused, has your stag organiser/the best man already bought tickets/reserved camping?

Because if they haven't they need to get a move on. If they haven't you will most likely be on a non-reserved/free for all campsite now. And if your party is arriving on the Friday/Saturday you might find it difficult to find a space for 12 of you all together, some groups send a few people down there 4-5 days before the race to claim their areas in the open/non-numbered campsites.

To put this in perspective I book 6 reserved camping plots with my ACO Ticket Agent for a group of 12 of us each year, on the day after the race, a year in advance!

Give Just Tickets a call if your group needs some decent advice/to reserve tickets- http://www.justticketsandmotoring.co.uk/

And go here for reviews of the campsites- http://www.beermountain.com/

best man organiser stated last week that Le Mans was the destination and no nothing had been booked...

He has the brazen attitude of it will all be fine and they should be able to get into any of the camps they choose with no issues.

Message to best man organiser - Dear Sir, Good luck with your strategy. I have no doubt it will be nearly as entertaining as the race itself.

Dupoint, my recommendation to you would be to sort yourself out with a robust plan B, coz unless best man has a cunning plan he hasn't shared with you, you will probably be scuppered.

Like others, we book up for the race the day after the last race has finished - a year in advance.

I have a plan B as I know a group that are going already, but that is for 2 of us and was being negotiated before the stag trip to Le Mans announced.

Including another 13 is not an option.

Plus their budget is a little optimistic at only £250 each for everything.

We're doing a stag (mine!) too, taking into account some thirsty cars, we're well over £250 before beer, cigars and food...

Well done you - I think the unlucky 13 may struggle a little.
