Cube Road Bike Size? - Sorry!
Discussion
Even I get tired of this kind of question - and I can't even answer them!
People tell me Cube bikes are small for their given size. For example, a 58cm Cube road bike has a 56cm horizontal TT.
Does anybody have a Cube Peloton, or similar who can advise?
I'm 5'10" (178cm) with an 80cm inside leg. I'm told I need a Cube 58, given that, generally, I fit 56's.
I would go and try one, but I can't find a 58 in real life to sit on, and just because a 56 does fit, that doesn't mean a 58 won't be better.
TIA

I find the top tube length is the most important length to get right when buying a bike and you will find some manufactures use that as the size where as others use the seat tube length as the size
Yeah, but how can you tell if it's right?I know about the old inside leg x 0.665 (which never seems to work), but is there a formula for the TT?

Just to chime in I am 6.0 ft and have an 82 cm inside leg and ride a cube GTC race size 60, the only thing I changed was the stem as I found I was a little more stretched out than I would like, stem was 130mm and I changed it for an 80mm
60cm frame with an 80mm stem? Doesn't that make the handling rather twitchy?AndyWoodall said:
I'm 185 and about to order and was going for a 58.
I have a 2013 Peloton (a Peloton Race, don't you know ) Going by the size guide based on height, at 182cm tall I'd be borderline 58-60, but Cube say to multiply your inside leg measurement by 0.665 for road bike sizing. That put me at 60-62. A quick test ride on the 58 and 60 was enough to prove that the 60 was the one which felt and, in the opinion of the guys in the shop, looked right for me. Based on my experience, I'd say you're better off judging it based on your inside leg rather than your height. But then, the OP would have ended up on a 54 using that formula. Best way is to judge it by riding the bikes before you buy
