Nope.

Magnetic red in Florida was absolutely superb, don’t know how it would fare under our grey sky’s though but suspect it would be pretty good.

As for the C6 in the UK we will have to wait and see. It would seem strange for Chevrolet to bring back the corvette so soon after pulling out of the UK in 2002, and the complete up they made of customer support afterwards. But rumour has it the C6 may even be engineered for RHD so you never know. It will be coming to Europe though so there is always the trip across the stream rather then the pond to get one.

Seen the Le Mans Blue with stripes both here (Le Mans in 2003) and the USA. Blue is a bit dull, not as nice as electron blue, also colour is unlucky on racing Corvettes..........

Regarding prices I would say from £44,000 upwards depending on spec.

I have seen both in the flesh. The red is one of the best reds they have made and is stunning (especially with white interior).

However, of the two colours, I prefer the Le Mans blue as, for me, the stripes really set it off. However (and correct me if I'm wrong) is this combination only available in the commemorative edition.

Either way you missed the best colour off your list and that is .............. YELLOW

The CE has a carbon fibre hood I believe but I'm no fan of the colour and really don't like the stripes at all. Obviously I'm not against stripes per se but I think they detract from the lines just like the 360CS stripes do. The colour combination is available only on the CE and they cost a lot more than the stock C5's which are being heavily discounted in the US with prices as low as $42000 for a Z06.

I like the magnetic red in the photos. Plenty of pics in the sigs at www.corvetteforum.com. I still think Torch Red is the best colour although I like the 50th anniversary burgundy metallic. Neither of those metallics is available as a Z06 though.

Although the C6 has been engineered for rhd, it doesn't mean it's cost-effective to produce it as a rhd given that there is only the UK , Australia/NZ and Japan to serve. As the C6 is based on the Cadillac XLR floorpan, they'd have to do both in rhd to make any sense but you'll pay a premium. My guess on a lhd C6 would be about £44-£46k. If they ever produce it in rhd, expect to pay a premium.

The C6 is not going to be as fast round a track as the Z06 according to GM, despite 6 litres and 400bhp and you'll have to wait until 2005 for the 500bhp Z07. There is also the possibility of an "uber-Corvette" currently under development as the Blue Devil which may or may not see the light of day.
