Hi all, the warranty finishes in June 2012 on MY09 S2000, and how much would it cost to have the warranty extended from Honda? Thanks.

It used to be the Honda Happiness Extended Guarantee and 3 years was £695 which included breakdown recovery. I think you can get a quote from any of the dealers.

Would you be worried if you didn't get a warranty though mate, aren't S2000's like super reliable - would you expect £399 worth of work within the next year?

Not sure if they still do it, but I got a 2-year deal on mine - worked out cheaper per-year.

Will the OP need it? As suspension bushes aren't covered, only if the TCT acts up...but IIRC they'd fixed that glitch by '09 - anyone more au-fait with later S2000's confirm/deny that?

(If the TCT acts up it'll pay for itself comfortably, otherwise it'll probably be dead money, as it's only a used-car warranty not a bumper-to-bumper one. FWIW I got one and didn't need it, but we then did the same with the wife's Golf GTi and are now in-profit.)

Said it before, but that is a cool garage...

BTW, have you seen how facelift prices are climbing? Makes me partly wish I'd bought that silver 52 coupe that Ian and Sharon now have.

NSX is one of my dream cars...and yours happens to be in my fav colour too! The only reason I asked about the warranty is cos an S2000 is on my maybe list for my next car - the only thing stopping me would be the fact I might not be able to fit in one!

If you're in your Honda's, you might like my old Teg...

If he has an 09, it will be well worth extending the warranty. The year had known problems on some cars with engines that started rattling and ended terminally. A few threads on S2ki about it. Seems if they are going to do it though, they do it early on.

I popped into Honda and they were advertising the warranty and that they are currently discounting the price, so you may want to to check whether you need to do it before June.

Been going to my local Honda dealer for 8 years or more. I pay £250 per year for honda happiness warranty and breakdown. The breakdown is with AA and is very extensive (europe cover, hire car etc). Used warranty once in 3 years for an exhaust O2 sensor, fully replaced no quibbles.
