iPhone 5: Coming June 2012
Discussion
I received my iPhone 5 Wednesday afternoon. Activated the sim, got it all up and running only to find the f'n lead was faulty so unable to charge. Couldn't be bothered to re pack it and send back to my provider so toured the town looking for a replacement lead. Ended up doing a 3 hour round trip to my nearest Apple store and bought two leads.
Apologies if this question has been asked before, but can you get a Lightning lead car charger yet? If not, what the hell are Apple doing releasing a phone with a new port without the components readily available to assist the day to day operation of the bloody thing????
It's like selling a car without any suitable tyres available.....oh st, I had that with my Cayman once!!!!

I've done it, albeit a while ago! You've got too make sure it's the correct length (30 seconds or something) and make sure ringtones are selected in iTunes, that's about as much as I can remember......
Yep its 30 seconds but my iTunes doesn't have a ringtones tab, its the latest version, I don't understand it!parakitaMol. said:
OK complete girl question.....
Until we get 4g, is the 5 supposed to work on 3g? If yes, how the flip do you turn it on and get it to work? I am on Orange. I turned the EE 3G setting on but it makes no difference.
Thanks
I had the same issue with T-Mobile/EE.Until we get 4g, is the 5 supposed to work on 3g? If yes, how the flip do you turn it on and get it to work? I am on Orange. I turned the EE 3G setting on but it makes no difference.
Thanks
I called them and they sorted it in a few minutes while I was on hold. After they did what they needed to do, I rebooted the phone and I was up and running at 12mb/s.
Has anyone been having problems with the signal? Tbh I'm not sure if it due to the change to EE or the phone as before with the iphone 4 and Orange I was having perfect reception in my house, now my calls keep on dropping or I can't even get any to make calls.

Still to get one.. the gangs from China are taking 60-70% of all allocations each day and buying others for cash outside the Apple store from anyone that wants to make an easy US$400. They've enlisted an army of nerds to give them an automated solution of applying for the phone each and every day (as the image below shows), then carting them all off to China for a large premium.

If it helps, mine has been dropped a few times in the last 2 weeks (we have a toddler!) and it's showing a few dents and scratches to the edge of the casing, but the screen is fine.
(Yes, I have ordered a case now!)
This may sound like a daft question, but I don't have any rugrats...(Yes, I have ordered a case now!)
What is a toddler doing with your iPhone in the first place?
Coming fron android my 5 seems like a good purchase. I'm not really into pissing about with roms or jailbreaking.
The apps seem much nicer to look at and use. And the lack of flash hasn't been an issue so far.
The biggest plus is the lack of oem and carrier bloatware.
No longer do I have orange crap asking me to backup or sony asking me to use their home screen.
It seems to work a lot better and the battery seems to be pretty good. After my usual 12 hour shift the battery is still at 50% where as the android would be dead with similar usage.
