I live on a farm, and work on a couple others, between them I use a couple...
My 1986 case 1394 (our everything tractor, also used for some contract work on chain harrows and small fields)
I made case tractors from 1988 to 1991/2 I think that model was still on the line when I started. so if you have one of these I might have made part of it My 1986 case 1394 (our everything tractor, also used for some contract work on chain harrows and small fields)
Think I also made 956xl 1056xl models
Any IH tractors you have my dad might have made them

I only have that one machine, but contract drive various ones, such as scraper masseys (MF 45 135 etc) a 590 on a Power harrow, and most recently, lambos, IH's, and zetors on hay, and wrapping with my 1394 .
straw soon, which i should be collecting with a Mccormick CX and flat 8 /double front & quad rear, and god knows what to haul, as it tends to be whatever is to old to haul grain, was a pre- facelift JCb and IH 434 last year...
recently did 3 weeks of 5:20 starts and 1Am finishes, plus 2 nights (not consecutively!) wrapping small squares with my tracccccer... the weather this year is hellish!
should be looking for a new machine soon, but maybe modern, as need a loader, and shuttle, maybe also front line for some small time contracting, but we will see... almost bought a JD 3000 series at truro machinery auction, but couldn't afford it and didn't need it

I hope you didn't make this one, or I may have to abuse you at great length...
was before my time I only gunned down the lid on the transmission, put all the pipes on that went over it,the gear levers and things like the trailer brake and PTO.
after 20 years and never seeing a tractor since I could still do it. That's 10 hours a day 6 days a week on a production line for you

the pipes are the bits that go wrong with it! although everyone says the DBs always weep oil
the gasket on the fuel pump is now leaking when cold, but after working doesn't.
balls.
Bloody Hell, I have been posting on this site for quite a while usually concerning Ford Capri's but then I came across this thread my second passion OLD Tractors, I have been into these for nearly 40 years much the same as the Capri's.
39/40 years ago my father and I had a grey diesel fergie, 3 or 4 E27N Majors, Nuffield DM4, Nuffield M4 and Case LA all of these were sold along with various stationary engines.
Then by chance an opportunity came my way about 8 or 9 years ago to get back into the classic tractor scene , a mate and I bought an International 634 and restored it, sold it and bought a County 1004 this has since been restored and is now my own.
I also own a MF 35 X, MF 35 X Industrial, Fordson Super Major, Ford 3000 pre force and a Ford 5000 pre force.
I have also recently restored and sold a MF 65 Mk2,Ferguson TEF20, David Brown 880 Selectomatic and Ford 4000 force, I will try to get some photos up soon.

It's been a while since anyone posted on this thread so here is one I bought recently and currently restoring. I've absolutely no need for it but what the hell... Great little project and really enjoying it..
One of my pals has just finished a restoration of a Porsche Standard, looks just like yours but with two cylinders instead of just the one. Ian's jumps about a bit when it's running, yours is probably going to be like riding a pogo stick! It'll be at the Tredegar House show in Newport tomorrow if anyone wants to see it.

Yep seen pic of Ian's and its a great resto which I think took him about four years in all. Mine wasn't running when I bought it but got it there in the end as for jumping.....nope steady away and ticks over a treat, these things could stand (stationary) all day running other equipment so shouldn't be hopping about. It'll be at the Tredegar House show in Newport tomorrow if anyone wants to see it.

I was making a joke about the idea of a single cylinder diesel although Ian's did jump about a bit courtesy of a rather knackered engine the fist time we got it fired up. I'll post some pictures here later when I'm back from the show.Mound Dawg said:

Reactions were great. He commented that if he had a pound for every time he heard "I didn't know they made tractors"... the little kids loved it too, red tractors do that don't they?
It got most comments out of everything on our "stand" which were-
4.2 E Type
Mercedes 300 SL Roadster (yeah, the gullwing type)
S type Jag (60s version)
2x Mercedes 190SL
2x Ferrari 355
Delta Integrale
Porsche 912
Mercedes 200 Fintail
My Alfa 75
Get yours done and out there, you won't regret it.
