mini pop bang on over-run
Discussion
Mrs Tiny and I are looking at getting a R53 Cooper S to have fun in over the summer and to replace a T6 Volvo and my little Cappuccino.
So after doing some reading it appears that the cars post july/aug 04 are the ones which do this lovely thing to the exhaust courtesy of the car spraying unburnt fuel into the hot cat.
My question is. Is this just a ECU flash to achieve this like the ECU telling the injectors to open slightly on over run or is there any physical differences between the models which cause this to occur?
Thanks
Ben

absolutely agree wastes fuel to make a nice noise for us to enjoy
Tried one today with a nice manifold, a decat and a Dave F CAI kit on it, made some stunning pops and bangs was a 2003 model so no extra fuel injection required here.
The other one I tried today was a 2005 with the pop and bang ecu software and was rather disappointed with the noise overall was just a cooper S though not a jcw or modified one.
