When I was a Rover apprentice working for experimental sheet metal in Cowley, we made body panels and assemblies for concepts and prototypes.
One car that really interested me was the early stages concept for a 4 wheel drive rover 200. It was going to be fast, rather than off road.
The story as it was told to me was (and it was a long time ago, so don't press me on the detail) that they made one body, but an engineer read the drawings wrong and the engine was leaning in the wrong direction, causing oil starvation and destroying engines.
There was no budget for another try so they canned it.

I saw the Avus, and remembered an Orange Audi concept that I thought was great, but couldn't remember its name. I think this still looks good today, maybe more timeless than the R8.

Japveesix said: No idea if this is canned yet, let's hope not. BMW SX concept: That isn't a BMW concept, so no chance of it being built. By someone called Iulian Bumbu.
