Appologies if there is a thread for this already but I had a look and couldn't find anything.
When I turn the ignition on I get Diagnostics Code C.
'Water level sensor not activating zero switch'
The car starts and drive as normal, rad fans work, has coolant in it etc. Everything is normal, except. The dahs display will tell me from time to time that I have 0 oil pressure or 199 degrees water temp, and beep at me, which is annoying!
So a couple of questions, firstly what does the diagnostics code mean & how do I fix it? I have just replaced the water temp sender, dash one with lead & plug not ECU one with plug on back of sender, code still shows with ignition on.
Secondly so I need to disconnect battery to reset fault code?
Thirdly what could cause the dash 0 oil pressure & 199 water temp fault? I guessed it could be a faulty sender, hence I changed it but doesn't look like it was. Faulty earth somewhere? Is there a common place to look? It doesn't always do it & it never shows 0 oil pressure without 199 water, plus car has not yet over heated or seixed. As they do it together i'm sure its an electrical or sender fault etc.
Any ideas?
PS its a MK1 Tuscan S
