Shame its going to have to go back as the camera won't auto focus. Doesn't work in any mode and appears to be fixed at around 6 inches and the focus box, or whatever you call it, stays red.

Disappointed.
You sure it's not in macro mode? While in the camera app, press the little cog icon and then scroll down and check that 'Focus Mode' is set to 'Auto Focus'.

Another argument of course, but the set in helmet adjusts the volume to the wind noise wink very impressive.

Yes as long as you have the stock battery (or an aftermarket one that is NFC Friendly)

(I know nothing about NFC)
What has the battery got to do with it?

Edit
A quick search seems to suggest that the NFC chip is mounted on/in the phone's battery. How odd. What's the reason for that?

Does anyone know where / when the S3 LTE will be available SIM free...? I think you can get the phone itself with Orange/EE now, but I want one that's not provider locked.

EE will be the only supplier of LTE until next summer, so its them or no-one for now.

Further to add - took it back and they agreed it was faulty - got a replacement but unfortunately not in Brown as they have sold out - Happy with the Blue though. To be fair, as long as its not garish, the colour isn't that important. I'll get a decent skin/cover for it soon enough anyway.

I don't if this can be done, but I'll ask you guru's out there smile

How can I adjust the order of the some of the funtions from the drop down scroll shortcut?

I use WiFi/GPS and Bluetooth and would like them all on the left hand side - at the moment WiFi and GPS is ok but bluetooth is on the right and it's a bit annoying scrolling right.

Doable?

Not just like that iirc, but you could just place a "bluetooth switch" on your homescreen. It's just a button that takes up a 1x1 space, maybe handy.

I thought Bluetooth was on the left as standard.

Anyway, there is a '15 toggle mod' available but only if your phone's rooted. I have it on mine. You can choose as many toggles as you like from the 15 and order them as you like.

I have Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, Sound, Brightness (instead of the slider) and Torch all visible with Rotation, Hotspot, Screen Timeout, Airplane Mode, Reboot and Shutdown when sliding to the right.

I'm going to ask an idiot question: NFC tags, what now? What can I used them for?

Stick one in your car, set it so that when your phone touches it it goes to car mode.

Stick one on your fridge, set it so when you phone touches it it opens your calorie counter app!

OK...possible prob!

Using odin to put JB on.....it seems to stick on the pat where it is send ing the new firmware over - the task bar shows only a tiny amount done and then seems to stick (it certainly gets no further after an hour of waiting)

Unplugging gives a "firmware failed" warning so is there a plan B????
