Hi all,

Tis about time I spent some hard earned on my 2005 MCS. I've put in one call for a quote for the work, but interested to see what others have been quoted. I've not checked if I need an Ins 1 or 2 yet, but prices I got were:

Inspection 1 - £224, all in.

Inspection 2 - £299, all in.

Front disks and pads, £205 all in.

I'm not sure if thats about right or a bit dear. The prospect of spending £500 though, I think its worth an ask around...

Cheers
Pork

Are those prices from a main dealer? If so you definately should be able to get them done cheaper elsewhere.I know i won't be going to a main dealer for my work,i've been going to the same garage for nearly 8 years with all my cars, and that's where i'll be taking my MCS.

Intersting. I woudlnt mind using a specialist but I cant find one close by, not least because the local main agent is "Specialist Cars" so any search returns them as a suggestion.

Thanks.

Yeah, they are.

Just got another quote...

Inspection 1: £169

Inspection 2: £269

Disks and pads, £199

I was quoted £170 for factored parts at a local garage for the disks/pads....for £30 I think I'd rather go OEM!

A local garage should still be able to get you genuine parts,i know the garage i go to does and the labour is alot cheaper than a main dealer!
I'm actually in the same position as you Pork,my S is coming up for a service in about 4,000 miles and is due front Disks/Pads also!

Morning mate,

Not sure with the service - but the main BMW stealer here matched the indie prices at the drop of of hat when mine was in for discs and pads last week......

Cheers

And actually thinking about it, they also then topped up the oil and screen wash FOC too.

Can't complain about that too much.

I think I was £80 delivered for front Brembo discs & Pads (R53 cooper S) + a sensor cable @ £9.99 all from ebay a few weeks ago (brand new of course) fitted them myself (easy job) but obviously could buy them & get fitted from a Garage.
