That'll be the infamous E39 steering 'shimmy'. Good luck getting rid of it!
hmm
just replace all the suspension components, get new wheels, have the tyres balanced and tracking done... problem solved. eek
Lol that lots more than the car is worth.

Instead drive at under that speed where you have no vibration cost zero. (I'd get the wheels balanced all 4 £12 it may turn out a wheel or two is buckled
There's no steering shimmy or vibration through the steering, just vibration (clearly from the rear). I've had the famous E34 / E39 steering shimmy previously on other BMs I've owned.

I'm not sure if those wheels require spigot rings - that may well be the issue as well.

I've yet to have a proper look through the massive history file to see just what work has been done.

Shame about:

- Spec
- Colour scheme
- Mileage

But most importantly:

- Vendor

Probably Cat D too.

Agreed and somehow looks older than it is. Maybe ex-driving school? Can't really argue with the price though!

Or relieve yourself (which wouldn't be the first time by the looks of things).
It does set a fairly low bar for the part-ex that would be considered though eek .

Spec isn't so bad (Pepper Pack, Pano Roof, Piano Black trim etc.), the chrome wrap could be removed (should be all Chilli Red). It's also the later 1.6 engine which is a much stronger unit.

Totally agree on skepticism of seller and history however, as the rear bumper is off of a later face-lifted car, so very likely to have had a rear end shunt.

That's my point! If it has done 400k then it's 2 grand over priced! Search for any 06 plate E class for £3k and they will all have fewer than half the miles. What would you get for £3k...

or this for a fiver less....

True, but it really doesn't look like a £3k car to me (or probably most people for that matter!). Bargain smile

Terrible alloys, terrible spoiler, terrible badges but I kept flicking through the photos. I found a picture of a 530d badge and someones tiny little office!?
