Glad to see this may answer some reliability questions over that engine. Looks like a bargain at 4 bags of sand.
Interesting. That's a service every 12-14 weeks - how many people are organised enough to get that done? That's one thing I've always wondered about people doing silly mileage - getting it served so often.

After seeing the above posts about 3rd engines, I may retract my uninformed earlier post.

If it were a fleet car I'd expect the intervals to be obeyed (probably), but how many private owners are that conscientious? That's one thing I've always wondered about people doing silly mileage - getting it served so often.

My boss does 50k a year and he is in the BMW garage so often it's silly. Spends half of his time in courtesy cars. (Slight exaggeration).

Depends on a few factors I guess, like knowledge, dependency, price sensitivity and so on, the latter being irrelevant to Co car drivers and somewhat more so to the majority of private buyers.

Shame its the 2.0 4-pot (PSA engine I think?). The miles are commendable, but its not very will priced.100k miles less here for £1k less:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-V70-SE-D-AUTO-NEW-...
£250 more, but a better engine and way less miles:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-Volvo-V70-2-4-D5-SE...
The 270k mile car needs to be price around £3-3.5k to make sense.

Wearing the miles well. But the price is overly ambitious to say the least.

Never buy an ex police car. Yes they may be serviced well. But they are ragged to sh*t 24/7 365 days a year.Jeep Grand Cherokee with 309k on it:

Looks in pretty good nick, I bet the owner was glad of the LPG conversion doing all these miles!

Surely that has to have an engine pop soon? Not 100% sure price reflects this, plus other inevitable expense at that mileage. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...
Ought to be, but not actually a car I'd touch at that mules/price combo
