Which of these would you choose, and why? Green Ceramic Sub or Black face 42mm Explorer II

I prefer older models of both, though out of the two I'd pick the Sub because of the Glidelock clasp system on the bracelet rather than the watch head itself. I do like the green as well, though other photos show the dial off better.
The case, however, is a tad too heavy handed...

I'm not keen on the green dial and bezel, so out of the two, I'd have the Explorer. Not too keen on the cyclops on either though

that ceramic green reminds me of the fake submariners I've seen in Phuket ..the previous model green was much more appealing.

I chose the Sub C - here with my home-built LV homage and Sub ND.

Green Ceramic Sub for me. Why? Because I think they look lovely.

I'd have the Ex II, as it is a modern take on the classic 1655/0. The 42mm case makes the Sub C look small in a world of +44mm Panerai and 45mm Planet Oceans. Try them both and go go for the one that feels right.. D

Quite partial to a green bezel sub, just wish the option of a black face was still available, as per the old model.
Never really been a fan of the bezel script on the Explorer.

I'd go for the Green as I have the 39mm Exp2 already. That aside I'm not really sold on the bigger Exp.

I would find a second hand green sub, the size of the case fits the bracelet better (in my opinion) I have had mine since 2006 and its always the one that I return to, a real classic.

Thanks for all your replies. I was never keen on the cyclops which is why I got a 16600, but I think more recently I must have got used to seeing them because I'd be quite happy with a cyclops Rolex now.
I was leaning towards the Explorer II as the Sub is more similar to the 16600 I already have. Plus I keep reading rumours of a new Sea Dweller appearing at some point.
Unfortunately I'll have to sell a couple of current watches to fund whichever I go for. I think I'll do as you suggest Dom and try them both on.

That is a really tough one. My wife's uncle has the Green Sub and I have just bought a 42mm Explorer II but it is a white face.
I always wanted an Explorer II but when I tried it previously, (40mm), I just didn't get on with it, however the 42mm is a very different watch.
I do prefer the white to the black dial but it is personal preference. I think I am going to vote Sub in this case.

42mm Exp for me though my preference would be the white dial not black.
