Does anyone have any experience of GAP insurance and who is a good supplier?
Mother has decided on a new Fiesta today and was quoted £350 for finance gap (Borrowing £5-6k) but a quick google throws up c£150 maximum for RTI gap.

This is also the man who put the Boxster into a bollard in a car park in Germany after picking it up from Stuttgart. I dont think the power matters so much as the numpty...

KrisP said: Brass and Eucalyptus. I also didn't think any E39s came with ISOFIX seats or the option thereof. Spec changes to the M5 were minimal throughout its life: http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=18BMW M Registry said: What changes were made to the E39 M5 during the time that it was produced?Though there were no major mechanical alterations to the E39 M5 during its entire production run, there were a number of equipment alterations that appeared with the 2001 model-year M5 (from 9/00 production). These include: - Revised headlight design incorporating illuminated "Corona" rings
- Revised tallight design
- Park Distance Control sensors in the front bumper (previously in rear only)
- Thicker three-spoke M steering wheel identical to the one fitted to the E46 M3
- Grey instrument faces
- Solar sensor for standard automatic climate control
- Revised navigation/audio unit with larger (6.5-inch) monitor
- Rear head protection airbags added
- Second-generation M Mobility tire repair system in place of earlier version
- Available M Audio System with special tweeters, Kevlar/carbon coaxial speakers and two subwoofers behind the rear console
- Alcantara headliner included with Extended Leather interior (previously only included with Complete Leather)
For the subsequent two model years, changes were limited to the addition of new exterior colors (from 9/01 production) and the upgrade to a DVD-based navigation system (from 9/02 production). However, ISOFIX seems to have appeared across the E39 range for the final (2003) model year of production, which will be cars with a build date of around August 2002 or later: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_5_Series_(E39)Wiki said: 2003 marked the last year for the E39 platform; they were differentiated by the addition of extra chrome trim on the trunk (boot) and on the sides of the body. In all 6-cylinder model 5-Series add a standard sunroof. The optional navigation systems upgraded from CD-ROM format (8 CDs to cover the entire USA and Canada) to a single DVD-ROM. The optional sport package on the 540i carried parts from M-technic. This included a full M-tech ground effects, M-tech II suspension, 18 inch wheels, and a variety of M badging.Isofix/LATCH child seat anchors were added. The E39 estate (touring) was continued into 2004 until the touring version of the new E60 5 Series was released. So as a 1 March 2003- registered example, it should have factory ISOFIX it seems.

Pretty sure They can help you out, push you on and pull you off Armco etc. You're race is over if you need actual recovery to the pits.

Isofix appears on Tourings from 02-on. Mine is an 02 and it was a 'must have' on the list. Interestingly (or not!) the rear child booster seat option deletes the Isofix mounts.

Although they can pull car out the gravel/armco etc, they are not allowed to work on the car or remove anything from it in order to assist the driver, which is why in the clip driver is removing the smashed bodywork from the car and the marshalls are clearing it out of the way once it is off.

O right. What I don't understand is is why they're getting in the way and telling him not to do it

Ooh, found one: http://www.harwoods.uk.com/used-cars/2339/Ford-Foc...£12k though. Pricey, given that also buys later, facelifted ST3s with low miles.

Needs to be a modernish heavy bruiser. The inherent reliability is also a welcome bonus when you know you are hauling 1000+ miles. Agreed. And me. The Dordogne two years ago in a 26 year old 635 was fun, but felt a long way. But this year in a 4 year old M3 with aircon, a decent stereo, sat nav, and no worries about over-heating, etc was just blissful. CharlesdeGaulle said: L100NYY said: <Schoolboy> Tee hee.
