Cheers Andy I might be totally wrong Andy but i'd imagine that all runs through the META ?? I'm sure someone on here will be able to confirm that though. AJ

Indeed its all Meta (although they are separate boxes from memory) under the dash top - passenger side far left. Before you go through all that misery though, I'll just say "it will be the relay" first - I trust you have checked these? http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I have removed the relays and stripped the can off them, I can operate them across the battery but I can not get them to operate. When I picked the car up there was only two keys , no imobiliser tag.
Cheers Andy

Simon says said: Far bit for me to criticize but you have a supposed new owner of one of these cars with just 12 posts to his name yet people are giving out the location of the immobilizer is this wise? Then to top it all its posted up on a public forum just how many wires do you think these thinks disable? Come on guys wise up at least keep it to Email That photo was taken from a website that anyone with a laptop & Google can find in under a minute. With that in mind I dont think my post constitutes much of an additional security risk. Sadly the truth is any self respecting 12 year old joy rider could nick a Chimaera in less than a minute. With or without that picture.

If bypassing an immobiliser were as simple as pulling a plug out...the previous owner wouldn't have gone to all the trouble an expense of re-wiring the dash to accommodate getting around it. I don't see an issue with pointing out the location of the box to a fellow owner (or not). I understand the concern raised and had I printed here a wiring diagram explaining which wires to cut, reconnect etc, then I would see the point as valid. In this case I feel the information I supplied was harmless - I appologise if others feel differently.
Sorry to tread on anyones toes.

Simon, all I want is help to locate the immobiliser, nothing more sinister than that, you are more than welcome to come over to where my car is and point out where it is if it helps. Thanks everyone for their help, I shall be removing the radio and the dash top tomorrow, The last owner let the car fill up with water so I will check all wiring just to make sure there is no other damage, I also have faults with the central locking, i have a replacement controller, is this also under the dash?
