Probably petrol prices absolutely crippling people. You're right though, compared to a few months ago when i got mine there doesn't seem to be many around at low prices. There were some absolute bargains around when i got mine !

Looks like I have decided to get one at exactly the wrong time then frown

Explains why I can only find 2 within budget that suit my spec.

Don't forget that TVR sold substantially more Chimaeras than any other model. It is inevitable that there would be substantially more Chimaeras being sold on the second hand market

I was in the same position as you two years ago. I had the money but couldn't find a car I was 90% happy with let alone 100%. After trawling the classifieds on here and other sites I was eventually pointed to a private advert by my mate who had got me interested in TVR's. The car was a little way from me but I decided to go to see it. It had a few imperfections (new tyres needed, wheels to be refurbed, paint to be tidied and mopped and a new dash needed) but engine and chassis wise it was sound and had a decent service history too. This was about the 5th or 6th car I had seen and I bought it with 5 months tax and a new MOT. It was actually £1500 below my budget and I used the balance to gradually fix the little niggles I had with it over the next 12 months.

Keep looking and post up adverts for cars here as a lot of people will know some of them and offer opinions.......good and bad.

Quick edit to add you may just have to move fast when one that suits your needs does come along but at least you have the funds in place to do this thumbup

Cheers, I have 2 threads running already so I don't want to keep posting stuff up, it may get a bit annoying.

However, these 2 are the front runners for now...

Looks by far the nicer of the 2.
One thing, it was last serviced by Joolz (joospeed) - but when did he shut down his TVR servicing? I thought it was 2-3 years ago now but happy to be wrong.

The first one as had a fortune spent on it ? if your the type to want upgrades save your self some money and buy the green one .Wheels ccan be changed.

So many owners start posting about wanting more power then they go down the slippery sloap ! It all starts with the smooth bore elbow .laugh

When i say a fortune, i mean probably double what he paid for the car .

Is it a well known car?

The colour is the only part of the car I am not 100% on, but as the MX is also Green it might be nice to have a pair.

Would be intersted to know what you thought of the car Skiver? Did you have a look or inspection?
