I've done 1020 miles since i bought it (used) in March and averaged (according to computer - which i reset when picked it up) 17.8mpg. It's a 2011 saloon 11-plate car with Performance Pack Plus, Drivers Pack and LSD. It isn't the new 2011 125 edition with the new gearbox. I think the engine is the same, just the transmission is different?

Sorry must be getting confused with the E63 new engine.
17.8 seems okay.
Could you live with it as an only car, or do you feel you still need a toy?

I did think about it. It is an utterly brilliant car and I love them. However. It just isn't outrageous enough for me. I love stupid cars with stupid styling. Maybe if I ever grow up.

swerni said: Could you live with it as an only car, or do you feel you still need a toy? Absolutely. I think the C63 is a fantastic toy/weapon, especially on the open road. I'm not sure i'd like to track it, as i think tyres, consumables etc would be just too heavy cost-wise. For me it was a toss up between this and an M3, but after driving the M3 i can honestly say, the Merc has the edge for sense of occasion and grin factor. The M3 might go around corners quicker, and change cogs faster, but the C63 has a higher quality feel to it, much more comfortable (probably the best seats i've ever sat in), looks better imho, rarer, and that engine is in another league - LOADS of grunt and torque. I honestly don't know what i would change it for. Maybe the new M5 or 997 turbo S, once prices have dropped and settled?

We picked it up on Wednesday and have averaged 19 mpg so far. Not as bad as I was expecting.
My criteria for my next car (before choosing this) were: Big enough for 2 children and 2 dogs (plus husband of course) V8 Fast Brand new Noisy
Saw a deal for 2 year contract hire that just could not ignore. Probably wouldn't have been able to afford a v8 otherwise!
It is sooooo fast and sticks to the road (dry road) like glue. I LOVE IT!
As my 6 year old says when I accelerate 'woo hooooooooo'.

Congrats! They are amazing cars. We've had ours for 25 months now and just done 46,000 miles in it. Over that time I has averaged 19.6mpg On a long run at sensible speeds you can get mid-20's at a push. The engine is the star of the car, but the seats, steering and noise are all special. The 2-stage traction control is a great way to introduce yourself to the limits of grip of a high output rear drive car. There are very few cars that will break rear traction so easily as the C63 does. Simply the combination of huge torquey engine and skinny rear tyres. It's addictive fun. Before you know it you're switching the TC into sport mode at every occasion. What I would recommend is a set of winter tyres for the winter months. The car is barely useable in the colder icy months and in the snow it's pointless. My disclaimer is that I do live in the country where there are roads that are often not gritted and never cleared of snow. If you live and work in town they are maybe not such a necessity. Anyway, enjoy the car. I presume the deal was through leaseyournextcar.com or something similar? The rates they had the other month were an absolute bargain. Well done.

My new C63 arrived a couple of weeks ago. Still running in, but I love 1. The low down power 2. The noise. Pops and crackles are very decadent in a 4 door saloon 3. The seats and ride are much better than I expected (18" and standard suspensio) 4. The gearbox is fantastic 5. The fact I de-badged it makes it a bit of a sleeper imo, which adds to the decadence of the noise. 6. Did I mention the noise.
I have owned 2xm5s (e39 and e60), an e46 m3, track day'd an e92 m3, and this is the best road car I have owned so far.
