Hello.

I have been a long time reader of PistonHeads since passing my driving test back in 2008. I thought the time was right to finally register and show off my new car!

After finishing college last June, I was looking everywhere for somewhere to start my career. After starting my first decently-paid full time job back in Feb, I decided it was then time to order the car that I've wanted for a long time; the Fiat 500.

Now, I am fully aware of the image these cars tend to portray. I would like to take this opportunity to declare that I am neither a hairdresser or a female.

So at the beginning of April I went to a very well known car showroom and I felt like a child in a toy shop. Don't know if anyone can relate, but I was amused at how something like cars appear to just be items in a shop just like going to the local Morrisons for a tin of beans. (Just me then aye?).

Anyways I decided on the TwinAir Plus.

The Plus has a variety of upgrades from the standard TA; Tinted windows, leather steering wheel, bluetooth to name a few.

Took delivery yesterday (Mon 30th April) and thus far have only done 50miles. As most of you are probably aware the mpg is not as good as fiats claimed. I have averaged 34mpg so far. I should note the mpg is not the reason for choosing the car and I was aware of this before purchase.

All in, very pleased so far. Not too bad for a 21year old I think, I haven't stopped smiling since 1630 when I received the car.

Looks nice, did you have to pay extra for the black wheels?

not really my thing, i'm more of a Audi fan

looks great in white, but not a fan of the black alloys, makes it look like standard wheels with the wheel trim missing

i would advise taking the Arnold Clark sticker off the window, spoils the look of the car

and remember all it's doing is giving him free advertising

do you want your 500 to be a billboard of free advertising?

I think I'd have removed the sticker before leaving the forecourt. I've never had a car with an AC sticker but I hate them.

Nice car though thumbup

Like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIQ-283wKgg but the other way around biggrin Classic "Not really my style, know what I mean.....tell charles I'm on my way...TAXI"

Anyway that Fiat looks fantastic and I hear with that engine its a hoot. Very well done, I had a white Capri 1.6L and then a Volvo 240 wagon when I was 21!

I'd have been over the moon to drive something like that at 21. It's ace. Don't worry about the fuel consumption too much at this stage. It'll improve with more miles.

Lovely car. The TwinAir engine really is a peach, it never fails to surprise me with how urgent it feels low down in the rev range, for an engine of its size.

I like these, hope you enjoy. I prefer the shade of grey/blue that was on the TV advert with a F1 driver in it.

They also look really good in red, the black wheels really work with the paintwork.

How does the TwinAir engine compare to the 1.2 in terms of driveability? I know it's turbocharged but does it rev like the 4 pot?
