Space stuff does not interest me and I don't have a 8mm cine projector so this seemed an ideal purchase.

Opps, forgot. I've one and half of this in the back of the garage. And my lawn in only 40' square. And billiard table smooth.

Atco scythe! Viscous things they are smile As a teenage I used to use one to cut the hay in one of our paddocks (ooh - get him). Heaven forbid you, or anyone else, should get in the way of the thing!

I've just had a notification from Amazon that my Amazon Fire TV that I pre-ordered on promotion for £49 (normal price £79) ages ago has been despatched and is on its way.

I'd forgotten I ordered that. Frivolous purchase because I don't really need it - my Sony BD player will play Amazon Instant Video and Amazon Prime Video direct to my telly anyway.

Mine turned up this morning. I'd also forgotten.
I don't need it because I have a PS3, ATV2 and XBMC in the Cinema room already. I think this will go in the lounge, if I can sideload xbmc then it will become my go to media player.

If you decide you don't want to keep this please let me know as my brother is a space nut.

Am seriously considering this...

Particularly like the 'life partner' tagline, I don't think you'd need to worry about being bothered by potential life partners travelling on one of these bad boys hehe

I saw a bloke using one of these in Reading the other day and he certainly got people looking and talking as he went by. Looked effortless as he navigated his way past all of the pedestrians.

I have a money jar due to be broken open. Every £2 I come across has been put in there for the last few years and should have about £600 in it.

This is now top of the list. I promised myself to buy something fun with it.

I had a go on one of these once.

THEY ARE fkING IMPOSSIBLE TO RIDE!!! (unless your name is John Witter, and you like showing everyone else up by gliding serenely up and down your airfield on one after your guests have all fallen off it...)

you should really get a projector. i have the apollo 11 and 12 tapes having bought them on ebay about 10 years ago. thought they'd be pretty cool things to have yet i still haven't watched them having no projector with which to do so!

most of the super 8 reels have been uploaded to youtube.

I have had to send that link on to a few people since it went live, the wingback seems to be universally liked once it's noticed.

that's an allan scythe, not an atco

they cut 'paddock/orchard/rough' grass great and are actually far more user friendly than they look.
