Just got a remap for my TTRS. Sure, 340 odd bhp is fine, and I don't need 410bhp, but it definitely cracked a smile on the way home hehe
That doesn't qualify for this thread, go away.
Hey Martin, I agree it's not the most frivolous, but no need to piss on his chips wink
According to the definition of frivolity, it does! Hence the discussion in my first post. I've contributed to this thread a fair few times before and know it's not the normal thing that's posted, but technically it does count. And people have posted entire cars in here before ffs!

Anyway, back to where we should be:

Are these things fairly generic? Will they work with any of the various iOS apps?

If that was intended to be funny (as in "tuning a car for more power is never frivolous") as I suspect it was intended, then you probably could have done with adding a smiley or two. smile

I don't know about iOS, but they are pretty generic and there are quite a few around. Probably all use the same chipset though I would guess. I have one that I use with Torque Pro under Android.

Apple doesn't allow their phones to communicate to such devices via Bluetooth - so you need a much more expensive WiFi version.

I have one on my K Series engined kit car, with Torque on Android. Ridiculously brilliant!

You need a WiFi model for iOS, I've got one that looks a bit like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/ERUSUN-Wireless-Diagnostic...

Was £12ish when I bought it I think.

Hardly frivolous though, used mine to diagnose an occasional misfire/faulty coil recently. Has already paid for itself.

The 0-60 timer on DashCommand is quite fun too... hehe

They've come down a lot in price - last time I looked a WiFi one was 50-60 quid when the bluetooth ones were under a tenner.

Well last nights Friv Purchase, a 1996 Landrover Discovery 3.9 V8 Manual.

I have a towcar already - Rover 75
I have a landrover already - Series 3
I have a company car already - Civic i-Dtec

I have two bikes.

No need what so ever, except I saw a video clip, of a straight through exhaust on one, sounds fun. £795, plus the fuel back from Exeter lighter, ill be back home in it Sunday!

Not sure how frivolous that is. You can now get the bikes in the back of something. You can also now retire the 75 to the role of waftbarge. You can also probably abuse the Discovery off-road with a lighter conscience than with the SIII. As for the Civic...

I have a towbar rack, and roofrack for bikes, another moment of ooooh, shiney things!

The rover has to be sold, I have a three car drive, and there is an impulse buy boat, and caravan on there too.

The Civic, well, its free, bar tax, so i can't complain too much

What engine does the 75 have? I suggest you get rid of the Civic and spend the tax on fuel for the two Rovers... biggrin

2 litre diesel, remapped.

TBH, the Tax cost on the civic is circa £50 a month. For a comfy, new car, which I don't have to spend a penny on maintainence, and can put silly miles on, I can't complain

heard on the radio this morning that oasis had reissued 'what's the story, morning glory' as the album's 20th anniversary draws near. i feel ancient.

i just visited the oasis online shop and bought the deluxe lp box set, definitely maybe deluxe lp box set and the exact same oasis union jack t-shirt i had when i was 14.

wallet's taken an unplanned hit but not totally frivolous as both those albums were a defining moment in my youth so have huge nostalgia value.
