Your frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need...

I bought a Bose Soundlink Mini a couple of weeks ago, and have only been able to find a use for it yesterday. I've got B&W speakers around my house, but this seemed like a good idea at the time.
I really want one of those. I could use my ipod touch with it but don't know a single circumstance where I would actually use it.Edited by Cotty on Thursday 26th March 16:05

I use mine a lot. I also have B&W in the house but the Bose is stored in my bedroom. It tends to get used when the other half is getting ready for a night out. I travel a fair bit so use it in hotels, around the pool and it's great for streaming audio watching Netflix on my iPad. To be honest, it was a frivolous purchase at the time but for the money, it gets used a fair bit (more so than my travel headphones.) The volume, bass and sound quality is pretty impressive for the size of the thing. Edited by Cotty on Thursday 26th March 16:05
bluetooth works for all macs but only some pc's. doesn't work with HP so i use a lead. much better than the computer speakers without having to wear headphones.
try one, they punch well above their weight and can fill a room easily. i spend a lot of time in hotels and site offices, i find it very handy. the silicon jacket and travel case are a must though.
to make it truly frivolous, buy two for stereo!

I have ugo bluetooth speakers and they are excellent.
One just for music when needed, if I want stereo I can cable link up a second and the gubbins inside works out which speaker plays what noise to give me stereo sound.
Instead of the £69 each I paid £45 for both as it was at Ideal home show and they had a huge discount on, plus I was an exhibitor.

An LNER railway sign to go above the side gate at my house.
Cast iron and weighs 6kg, and felt twice that as I was carrying it around the Antiques & Collectors Fair at Newbury Racecourse where I bought it today.
The seller and I agreed £22.50 (he wanted £25 and I offered £20) but what I ended up paying was a £20 note and all the shrapnel in my pocket which was just under £2 worth.
