Mrs C is pregnant! Not planned, big surprise, and not really sure where we can sell it.
Anyways, a discussion was underway about your responsibilites and biking. Anyone MADE to give up biking cause they had a little one on the way? Or anyone decided that they SHOULD give it up? Not that I am a biker at the mo, but I will be again.

Why give up enjoying life just because you've made the mistake of breeding? doesn't make any sense to me.

Congratulations. Tricky one this but only you can decide. I am only a fair weather biker, and for my 25 mile motorway commute the Jag is a very nice place to be, but since ours arrived the opportunity to head out at weekends are few and far between.
You may find your riding habits change anyway, whether you seek to cut down or not.

Congrats to you both mate. . .as to the question, when my mrs fell,i said it would make more sense to sell my old bike with its niggles and buy a new one ,with a warranty. . .try that line with her! As for riding time, believe me,youll treasure it more than ever. .do not sell your bike!

I decided I should give it up (our first is 7 weeks old) but not for "I might die" reasons. I only rode 1000 miles in the last year and I thought it was a waste to have a nice bike on the drive which didn't get used. I (correctly) figured out that having a baby doesn't suddenly mean I'd have more weekend free time for biking, so the Street Triple went to a nice chaps from Cardiff about 5 weeks ago. My parents are pleased I've gotten rid, my wife thinks it's a shame but understands the thinking. Oh, and congratulations!

Congratulations Chilli me old beaver loving stud muffin. The child of course shall be named 'Robert' or 'Roberta' depending on whether it is a girl or boy and then we must celebrate with much beer and merriment. Don't give up biking, though I expect you need a bike in the first place before you can give it up. Now is your time to shine, get a new bike for yourself and a PW50 for the new nipper - I got mine when I was six months old.

Cheers all. As soon as I find out who dunnit, I'll let you know.
Bobski, my door is always open, you know that!
So, give me some ammo. What do you say when the "You need to be more responsible" & "You have others to think about now" comments arrive?!

What does she love doing that is not conducive to childcare? Offer that up and see what she comes back with. As above, it helps to firstly have a bike, but you'll probably find yourself using it as a commuting and fun tool, rather than as a default "nip to the shops" tool, as Junior will sleep in the car, and it gives the missus a short break.

Hey buddy, how's tricks? Well, her passion is horses (leave it) but she cant do that anymore. Moaning, shouting and crying seem to be her other hobbies at the moment.
