Around sthe start of december I received to tax rebates about a week apart I think, from 05/06 need to double check, not much just a few hundred each as back then the allowance was 4.5 k tax free(not sure exact figure) now the last few years the amount went up to 7.5k tax free,I paid tax on every money I earnt, question is how would I go about getting the other years tax rebabtes back as I could do with some money lol as its been a bad start to the year work wise.I don't think that I'd have all my pay slips but it would be on there records as I got 05/06 tac rebates.
Thanks in advance russ

Yo can claim up to 6 years late AFAIR. I'd call your tax office and discuss it direct with them. Good luck!

Ah ok will definately do that, don't know how helpful they'll be tho, hopefully very, few wks back I recieved a letter saying I'd get charged for not fulling my self assessment in,completely baffled me lol,but remember that an agency pushed me into going self employed so I rang up hmrc and got my no: then changed my mind to stay paye the day after as in my case the difference was not worth the hassle.

Rang them up saying I want to unregister person said fine.

Then got the letter rang up said I wasn't and they had stupid guideline questions.
Were you self employed at any part of the year- yes but only overnight and I never made any money- so that's a yes then.
They had to make a decission took 2 wks for the reply letter luckily they took me of it which I should of been anyway but they can be bloody hassle lol

Not six years I'm afraid. There has been a recent change. The moral is, don't delay.

The time limits for claiming a refund are shown in the table below. If you don't make a claim within the time limit you'll miss out on any refund due.
