Lovely car! I've got a Dyane and love driving it. With regard to names, how about Benoit?

Take care - these beasts are quick!! And they're good to pull alternatives at swimming lake. Every student should have one smile

I absolutely love these cars! Always wanted one. I just missed out on one a few years ago that the elderly couple had had it since new.

my nan bought me one of these when i was about 14! I always wanted one so she randomly bought me one. Obviously i couldn't drive it at that age, so my parents drove it around, but it died of massive corrision before i passed my test.

we scrapped it, but looking at prices nowadays, i wish i had kept it and restored it!

would love another one, but with prices from around £2k up to £10k, i dont think it will happen anytime soon frown

that looks a lovely motor. May I ask how much?

/edit - Ecas 2CV parts is also about 2 mins from my house so if i can ever help you with any parts, let me know smile

How much am I enjoying this car?

Sooooooooooooo much!

I just love it, nothing has made me as happy as this little car in a very long time, It's just brilliant.

I've put several hundred miles on it now, been commuting in it with the roof rolled back all week, and I've just had the most marvellous drive home in it from a trip to the cinema. I'm getting into the groove with it, and it can be hustled along at very improbable speeds. The steering is very light and precise, fluid, and with fingertip control. I've mastered the gear change and it is very slick, and I've realised that no matter how ridiculous the body roll, it ain't gonna fall over hehe

This car makes me smile every time I get into it, and I get out of it very happy. I've been grinning like a loon and laughing out loud so much the last two weeks biggrin

You've got to try one of these, they're the antidote to everything that's banal about modern motoring smile

Brilliant cars. Seeing one takes me back to my Uni days - I had a mate with a lightly modified 2CV. Lightly modified in that it had a 4cyl GS motor fitted with a Sprintex supercharger and water injection.

It was both hugely comical and quite rapid.

Absolutely right, When we had ours, I also had a fiat punto GT turbo. One of my commuter routes included a 20 mile section of suffolk B road, which I could actually cover quite a bit quicker (and more enjoyably) in the 2CV. I still cant get over how much money these are now, I'm kinda wishing I had kept hold of it as it was good one

I wonder if the OP is deriving more enjoyment from the little Citroën than the Bentley?

How're you getting on a few weeks in? What's she doing to the gallon? Mid fifties or higher?

They never seemed as good on fuel as I'd have thought they would be. My 2CVs managed about 45 - 50, my Acadiane (van)never bettered 40 and my Dyane seems to be averaging high forties. Great fun though!

Identical to the D-reg one that we had.

I turned-up an adaptor to allow me to fit a MOMO wheel. Great fun, but a little tiring to flog up and down from London to Somerset every weekend.

I've been away last week, and the car was left with a 2CV Guru for a thorough fettling.

I've just fetched it back, and it's better than ever. I suspected that it wasn't driving as well as it should, and I was right. It's had a big service, all the fluids changed, new pads/shoes, carb cleaned & set up, points, valve clearances etc. As well as a new set of tyres, suspension work and lots of other work, various pipes and unions/clips/clamps replaced. At just £12 an hour labour, and parts at cost, I think I've found the right man to look after it for me. Although I do intend to do regular servicing and routine maintenance myself from now on.

The car now drives very tightly, yet smoothly. All the old car free play has gone, it's now as I imagine a new one would be like.

I've not done a check on my actual MPG, but I put twenty quid in from time to time and it seems to last for ages, even with the odd 150 mile return trip.

Am I enjoying it more than the Bentley? I wouldn't like to say whistle

But we love all our children just the same don't we? wink

I passed one on my way out of the supermarket the other day, in the sun, chap behind the wheel had a huge grin and EVERYONE turned to look at it. Gave a thumbs up, got a nod and a grin back as it negotiated the roundabout on its door handles. hehe

A Scorpio t-boning a 2CV sounds nasty. Assume you were hit on the passenger side, or the accident was at low speed?
