Both Huntelaar and Walcott would indeed cost upto 40 million, maybe closer to 35 million as the rumours seem to be that the fee for Huntelaar has been agreed for a few million less than 20 and surely Walcott wouldn't cost more than 15 with being in the last year of his contract. Indeed they are both in the last year of their contracts.

The question really is where do we get the money from? If we can get rid of Carroll, Downing, Adam and Spearing that's got to be over 30 million. Bring in these 2 and I expect to see a Champions League push under BR very very soon.

Would love to land Huntaalar & Walcott, we still need depth adding to the squad.
That's £40 mil atleast right there. £15-20 for each one. Can't see it happening.

People on the good old mighty Twitter saying Carroll has agreed personal terms with NUFC, just need the 2 clubs to agree to a deal in the region of £17mil for him. Would be piss poor if we sold him for that much frown
I still think Carroll will be an absolute monster with good service, he is still a pup in footballing terms, and he has that important factor of bringing somthing different to the party, can be a real game changer IMHO. We need 4 major strikers to be competetive, if we lose Suarez or Borini we are in trouble, every big team needs decent backup for each position. A strikeforce of Suarez, Huntaalar, Borini & Carroll would be a pretty decent front line.

Looks like Dempsey isn't going to happen either, not that upset but he would be another useful addition for a season or two.
I really can't believe liverpool are willing to sell Carroll> Dempsey has no sell on Value. £8m to sunderland the papers are saying

Do not tell me that this is serious? We may not be a top 4 club anymore but having to use Downing as backup left back is embarrassing.

I think BR knows that Stirling will be our left winger for the forseeable future, Downing being able to cover LB as well as LM gives us much more flexibility, and will save poor old Glenda from being stuck in there when he is so much better down the right?

He has played LB through his career, he is an England player (and English so fits the quota). What's wrong with playing as cover at LB?

Enrique can't play every game and Robinson will be busy with NextGen and the odd cup game.

Depending on how Assaidi fits in Downing might be a good squad player for us.

Walcott for £12m i'd be happy with.

I read about Huntelaar last week. Just didn't think there was anything concrete in it due to googling it and the only results being interest in him in June.

So Caroll £17, Adam £5, Spearing £3m?
£25m raised funds. I'd be happy with getting rid of them 3 if it brought funds to the club for BRs signings.

If we need a new left back we should buy one. It's obvious to anyone with the slightest bit of footballing intelligence that Sterling is way ahead of Downing on the left. Best thing BR can do with Downing is sell him. In a 433 he'd be behind both Suarez and Sterling on the left.

I'd take 10 million and move on. Intact if we could get the 12 million that Arsenal want for Walcott from the sale of Downing I doubt most of us would never look back.

Would we get £10m for him at the moment? Can't really see it frown but there's not much difference from £7 or £8m to £10m so i'd be happy with £8m upwards.

Bolton news reporting a deal for Jay Spearing has been done.

Good luck to the lad.

Your right, i just over reacted because it didn't seem like the best idea to me. However, it may work, it may not.

These initial prices are all fine and dandy but would Walcott really be worth 100k+ p/w? Even if he stays fit for a full season his wedge would surely be a massive dent on future signings especially as he ages and loses his speed factor. I do like him but there's got to be someone somewhere around the world that would cost a tad less.

I think he's on £60k p/w at the Goonies and wants £75k at them.
So why £100k p/w at us?

Dunno. Presumably because he's alledgedly rejecting 75kpw some people are putting 2+2 together and assuming he wants more?

Maybe he feels just like RVP and wants to leave, and simply isn't interested in a new contract.

BR has just been asked about him in the press conference. BR said he's not speaking about any possibly signings till Friday is gone and the window is closed.
When pushed about Walcott and the journo saying you do like Walcott don't you? BR just gave a cheeky little wink haha

It's a bloody huge difference and a great difference to see in terms of Dalglish's interviews and Rodgers's. Cringeworthy with what KK was coming out with and the way manner he was speaking in last season.
