I'll be in Peterborough on saturday morning for four hours while waiting for a new passport, does anyone have any tips for interesting things to do while I'm waiting.
I'm sure PH can come up with some novel ways to pass a few hours...

Queensgate has shops and a McDonalds. Bit of food and browsing? Peterborough has a cathedral, but I've never been in it. Try that? There is a Mazda dealership there so you could test drive an MPS? There is a train station there, so you could go to London for a few hours? Apart from that, I don't know of much else that can be done there. I'm usually there killing time if the Mazda is in the garage. I've found that wondering around Queensgate can kill some hours. HTH.

Depends what you like to do - Peterborough is a pretty bog standard city, so all the normal stuff is available
There is a kart track on the outskirts, the market next to the passport office is good for ethnic foods, there is a nice park at Ferry Meadows
If you are looking for more character, I'd get the train to Stamford - 15 minutes, trains every hour, thats a more interesting place for a stroll around

Shall be watching this thread 'cos it's our local shopping centre and I'd love to know something good to do there. Though to be honest the steam train trip on the Nene Valley Railway's quite fun especially if you've got little 'uns with you and even more special if they're running Thomas. http://www.nvr.org.uk/

Yep, I agree with previous poster, go the the Nene Valley railway. The Peterborough end of the line is about a 10-15 min walk from the town centre, it's a lovely little preservation railway.
That's the only thing I'd go to Peterborough for. The Queensgate's a dump, full of white yoots with their caps on back to front, trying to be Jamaicans.

If you are interested in motorbikes there are a few dealers around the area, Marshall Honda, Webbs Yamaha in Eye and Taz motorcycles. Apart from that, sweet fa.

What time of day? If it's 11.30 onwards I'd suggest getting a paper or taking an ipad and settling down in a pub.

Even if its raining, it's still better than Peterborough though
