MG ZS 180....Am I mad?
Discussion
I really liked my ZS 180 when I had it. I averaged 33mpg over the year I had it.
It made a great sound, especially with a decent cold air feed(which did improve the speed and economy for me).
I took it on track once with my mate in his Integra, there really was very very little in it.
As for reliability. Well, I had to call the RAC out twice. Both for the same clutch slave cylinder issues. After the second time, I bought an upgraded "Sheddists kit" and never had any issues after that.
I replaced the VIS motors in mine also- these control the inlet plenum at various RPM(if I remember correctly), and can cause a lack of power(It will be obvious on a test drive as there will be no "shove" at 3k rpm and then at 4.5k rpm).I think I paid £60 each brand new for them off one of the forums.
For the money they are great. Not much difference in speed to the Clio 182 I replaced it with.
