Only reason I ask is because I have just got the baby to sleep, then a neighbour fires up the lawn mower, now baby won't go back to sleep. When can I go round there and kick off?

9:00 pm,. Certainly around where I live in the summer people cut their grass up until 9, sometimes later.

Why not let him off this time, then ask him if he could do you a favour, as you have a baby that goes to bed early, and not do it after 7, just this year..... be reasonable and see if he is.

Perfectly fine.
As long as its not after about 10-10.30PM, I would have no problem.
If it was just an isolated incident, I wouldn't even care if he did at 1 in the morning.
If it was a regular thing, I would prefer he did it before 9PM, but that's just a personal preference as that's when I sit down to watch TV and eat.
(Not that I can hear my neighbour's lawn mower in my house much).

Depends if your neighbour can hear a screaming baby in the middle of the night....

He's stopped now, I wouldn't mind but last night he was chopping his hedge until 9:30. Getting a teething 9 month old to sleep is hard enough at the best of times lol

He has his own life, and I don't think 8pm is unreasonable.

Funny thing this thread - someone just started one up here and I thought it's a bit late.
I've told the step-son that he's not allowed to mow after 8 (like there is any chance of that!).
