This is my take on the Ultima interior/dash. I know what I have done is not for everyone, but I thought I would share what I have been doing. It still needs some work and refinement to make it what I want.

Some of you may notice that I used Porsche components for many items.

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Randy

Looking good. Those that go the standard Ultima interior route have no idea how much work is involved in creating your own interior.

You will find the carpet on the top of your luggage pods will get very damp if you use the car in the wet. When you open the door that area gets soaked!!!

The Ultima is one great looking car but have always thought the interior needs a complete redesign, good on those that have gone their own way,

That looks great. It's a bit too luxurious for me, but nevertheless very nice.

The binnacle doesn't sit much higher than the steering wheel, so I would have thought it's ok.

Quite a nice job too. I've redesigned my dashboard as well, but needless to say it's not finished yet.frown

Nice and simple! Not keen on digital only dials though, give me analogue any day (I'm a bit old fashioned in that way).

Is that an R8 hiding in the background?

What is somewhat difficult to hide is the front hoop in a GTR. I don't know why the bodywork doesn't fit closer. That would be a great visual improvement IMO

Thank you all for your comments. No not that tall. I tried to keep the top lip to the dash no higher than the top of steering wheel. I too had/have concerns about losing visibility. The truly best view of all is how Ultima designed the car. Sitting in the car looking out it appears to be OK. Time will tell if I will be totally happy with the height. My plan has always been to disassemble the car at some point to paint it. If it proves to be to high, I can cut it down re-glass it and make new CF panels.

Yes, as it was stated changing the dash takes tons of time. Well at least for me it did.

Thanks,

Randy

Craig, very nice job. I like the add-on for the head rest. Is the window a two piece where the bottom can be removed or is that simply partially tinted?

For those that are not regulars on here please remember that this is not an Ultima!
