Hi, I had a small patch of damp on the kitchen Ceiling, which turned into a large patch with black mould over a few days. The damp part on the ceiling feels soft to touch and looks like it has "bowed" slightly.
I think I've fixed the leak (a seal around the shower in the bathroom above) strange that it must have been leaking for ages the floor boards under the shower are quite rotten!! But the mark on the ceiling came on quite quickly.
Q. How long will it take for the ceiling to dry out?? (assuming I've stopped the leak)

If the ceilings bowed, I'd be more tempted to have the section replaced.
Cutting it out will also allow air to get to it.

Thanks, it seems quite dry now but very weak. I managed to poke a hole in it with my finger, only the lining paper holding it up!! Mrs A.F. now pissed (why did I have to interfere with it)
So patch it is.
Thanks chaps.
