I had my dual mass flywheel {GT3 Mk1 Comfort} replaced with a 964RS flywheel when I needed a new clutch. It certainly helps the engine rev up quicker due to less rotating mass. If you are serious about your track days its a must my opinion.
Infact both the flywheel & clutch were 964RS parts.
Cost was around £1,300.00 + vat at JZ Machtech.

What Daz heard in the pub is correct. My MK 1 Clubsport (with single mass flywheel)had a new clutch at 20K miles last year by the previous owner (mileage now 23.5K). Not sure what effect a single mass flywheel has on clutch life but most GT3's that are regularly taken on track require at new clutch around 20K.
Register with the GT3Titanic forum as someone there is bound to know. I may be talking b......t, but I think the single mass flywheel is what gives the MK1 Clubsport and the RS that distinctive sound on start up in neutral and also results in a tendency to stall especially when reversing.

Agree on Daz' post above for the model specs.
I recently changed my 993 dual mass flywheel/clutch for the single flywheel as fitted to the 993 RS clubsport.
There was no stalling issue as we re-set the ecu...simple.
On the road the engine definitely revs better above 4000 rpm, it feels like the car has 10% more power at the top end.
There is a lot more noise at tickover once the gearbox oil has warmed. This goes away above 2500rpm.
This a good mod, but compromised for road use.
If the car is going to spend most of it's time on the road rather than track, I would stay with dual mass.
