Guys,

Anyone fitted anything other than stock brake pads to their C63? Mine is a '10 plate and fitted with PPP...have been looking at EBC yellowstuff or Brembo upgraded pads.

Any recommendations?

EBC are ste, don't bother, why do you want to upgrade, is it for track work?

Have a couple of track days hopefully booked over the coming months. Last service flagged up 40% wear on front and 50% on rears so was going to change prior to going on track.

Was going stock but thought I'd ask if anyone has tried any other make and got good results...

I had aftermarket pads fitted to my E220.
They squeeked and knocked every time I braked. (This was even after I asked the local garage to fit Merc pads only. rolleyes)

OEM every time. yes

The front pads on my PPP car are shot after 15000 miles and a handful of trackdays. They do seem to fade a bit after very serious use so I was looking at something from Pagid or Performance Friction, they do some kind of carbon or ceramic jobbies.

If you are going to use your car more than a few times on track I would upgrade.

I'd upgrade the discs if doing track days.

The standard discs are composite and seem up to the job, if the pads don't improve things I may look at discs too.

Why don't you use the current ones as you still have 40% and change them when they are worn, that way you max their use and save the new ones for another day.

Personally I found the OEM pads to be fine on track, maybe the better option would be to upgrade the brake fluid?

Very unhelpful, so highly skilled racing drivers only need sawdust and dustbin lids for brakes do they? Get a brain.

Hi Kev, did you source any alternate pads?

Hi Sim...No not yet...after the stealership told me they were low I was going to replace them. however, I needed new tyres so got the guys at STRacing to change all four for me and check the pads. They said there is around 6-7mm left on them so they're good enough for a few miles yet.

I didn't get much further in looking into it to be honest.

Cheers mate, it appears to be a minefield! I was also considering a brake fluid upgrade but the dealers are being very unhelpful, trouble is my 2 year service is due in a few months so if I replace the fluid now they will do it again with MB standard stuff otherwise they won't 'stamp the book', swines...

Anyone upgraded, I was out at Donington on wed and the brakes were truly awful after 4 laps, massive fade, I knew the car wasn't cut out for track work but expected them to last a bit longer than 4 laps, seriously unimpressed?
