Public order act/Enviroment stuff
Discussion
Was it OTT public order policing in Hertfordshire, protestors against GM crops,,
Am I missing someting we lose the 'nasty' aphids, so the bird population dwindles, lack of pollination etc so we have to rely on 'chemically' engineered food even more.
I can see chemical companies rubbing their hands together at the thought of all the profits fully supported with the govt backing them to the hilt & and fook everything/everybody else

Not in my opinion they simply stopped the protesters getting in and destroying the crop and I didn't see any kettling or violence so I'd say no, unless it's suddently acceptable for protestors to vandalise stuff then I don't see a problem.
Also the aphids aren't being killed just encouraged to go and eat something else so they will still be in the food chain and birds don't have much to do with pollination.

How would you feel if the police allowed an anti-car group to smash up your motor because of MMGW?Am I missing someting we lose the 'nasty' aphids, so the bird population dwindles, lack of pollination etc so we have to rely on 'chemically' engineered food even more.

When the papers profile the ones the police arrest they always turn out to be 'career protesters.'
If they're such experts in bio-sciences, student fees, the capitalist system, roadbuilding, house building, social matters, race relations, middle east policy and so on it makes you wonder why they arent making a mint in consulting of some sort...
Or they could all be as stupid as they look.
