The point is, he wanted it, he could afford it, so he bought it.

You could argue that there's no point to many cars that are made, but what a useless comment to make on a forum for car enthusiasts.
Each to their own, I don't like it, simple as that.

love it, and with that many Ferrari's in the world, this one stands out a bit, well done.

Normally I see these one off specials and think either they are absolutely stunning or blindingly ugly....this just doesn't register with me at all...I think it's bland.

As others have said....288 GTO replica would have been better plus I think the front of that would work better with modern crash regs.

If you like the BB512, why not just buy one of those and restore it to perfection?

This seems a bit like a very rich man's MR2 based 348 to me smile

It's a rather odd looking 458, not a modern 512BB...

Looks ok, but not as good looking as the 458, too bland compared to it.

I always felt that the 458 was a very disjointed design with the front and the rear appearing to come from different cars. This one is a better attempt but not wholly successful in my book. I suspect Eric’s sell off of some of his classic Ferrari's including his 250 SWB helped to pay for this.

Personally I prefer some of his recent Hotrod projects that were built for him by Roy Brizio

As someone who had a thing for the original 512BB when others my age lusted after the Countach, I have to say that this car is (for me) up there with creations like the 288GTO, 250 GT Tour De France, 250 GT Lusso, Daytona and the 250 GTO SWB.
I do agree with previous posters who mention the wheels -HRE Vintage 505. This would improve it ten-fold IMO.

I really quite like it. Calling it the SP12, does that mean this is the 12th Special Edition Ferrari have made. I'm aware of a few of them (first one based on a 430 i think went to China, a 599 Superamerica), but can anyone fill in the gaps?
This?
Ferrari F430 SP1

Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta (The 599 You mentioned too?) I'm sure this
cost the owner 640k Euros to build back then I could be wrong.

I never knew he was a petrolhead until hearing he was doing this a while back, makes me appreciate his music even more. Also I have to admit I really like this, but then I also liked the Stratos that was recreated on a modern Ferrari base. Fair enough there is no point to this, but in this day and age, there isn't a lot of point to any car with lots of power for road use. It is sometimes nice just to have things because you can smile

If I was a multi-millionaire, I'd probably commission a one-off Ferrari too. Not a retro thing like this, but a Pininfarina-designed body, styled to be beautiful and timeless, plonked on the chassis of an F12b. cloud9
