I've never been a fan of 'lifestyle' 4x4s, but I was looking at a Volvo XC60 R-design yesterday. Like the styling and it looks to be a complete family car. I quite fancy one of the mid range petrol versions as I don't need a diesel. The issues I have are the Volvos (V70) have been VERY unreliable and expensive to fix. Anybody ran one. What's the real world mpg and servicing costs like

Hi, Been running a XC60 drive e since Sept 2011. Think it is a good car, only 1 problem with it which was sorted under warranty. With it being the Drive e it is only a 2litre and front wheel drive but it still returns on average 42mpg, using the on board computer as a guide.

I'm considering a 4x4 version. There are some high kerbs near me They just don't seem to figure on many peoples radar and I have an uncomfortable feeling they'll depreciate like the proverbial concrete block. I'd like a petrol one, but they seem as rare as rocking horse poo.

I have had a 2.4D Drive manual version for 3yrs now and 33k miles Its just the right size for us ... But a little dull and univolving to drive Aside froma couple of early warranty things its also been reliable I managed to get a 23 percent discount on ordering plus an additional £1k for taking out Volvo finance and then immediately paying it off My advice would be..... Do the auto thing as my manual is fine and gets 42 mpg but the auto fits the car better. Go for the panoramic roof if you can as it makes a big difference to the interior? Get yourself over to here too http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1...NbD
