Had my low mileage chimaera 450 up for sale for a month now and not one enquiry, not even a messer. Its a 34k cherry pearl 450 in very good condition with gaz golds, alloy rad, act hoses and fsh.I have priced the car at £10995.I wouldnt be selling but i just have to try a tuscan, but at this rate i think im going to be keeping the chimaera.

Persevere! As nice as the Chims are once you try a T-car you'll be hooked.
As for not selling, if you need a quick sale you need a quick sale price. Remember the Chim is the most common TVR so loads of choice, plenty of spread with prices that don't always mean a good or bad car can be determined by price (ie/ an expensive car doesn't mean it's in good nick and vice versa the cheap ones). Also, it's a niche car. Expensive to run and any TVR will only really appeal to an enthusiast so there is a limited market.
When I sold my old 400 (Viper blue 97 P plate, excellent condition, solid chassis, FSH, Gaz Golds, 58k) it went on the market at 9 grand and this was 4 years ago, took a month before I got any calls then sold to the first person to view for 8.5k and I had a few calls in the days after as well.

There has been a few 450s in seemingly good condition sold recently but at an advertised price under £10k. All depends how quickly you want to move car on for I suppose.

Obvious answer is that it's too strong for the market.

When I sold my Chimaera (also 4 years ago, like Zippee) the ad hadn't even gone live on PH before I was getting calls via TVRCC people whom I'd said in passing that it was going up for sale.

Clearly, that was too cheap...

I'm in the same position - P plate with 43k up for nearly two months, two email enquiries both of which I have been as honest as possible with (perhaps that's the problem!) and no responses after that.

Am only selling as the Chim doesn't get used enough, and insurance / tax for the last year has meant £1 per mile before any petrol. If it was cheaper to have "sat there" I'd be keeping for sure, as there's nowt wrong with it.

But it has been for the last fortnight, which is why I'm surprised.

Only been the last week where I've been!

Either way, it takes a while for the sun to come out and people decide they want a soft top.

That was before the recession and masive price rise in fuel duty etc ..

I hope I'm not teaching granny to suck eggs here...............

You can sell anything as long as the price is what 'the market' will accept. The choice of Chimaera's at or below yours is quite immense and therefore if you want a premium price (and £10k plus is a premium price I would say) then yours must be marketed in a 'premium' way and stand out from the crowd and be exceptional.

So does your ad meet the criteria of being 'premium' ? I've read it and I don't think it says enough about how exceptional your car is. It is clearly a very good Chimaera and the photo's need to support that. Maybe you need pictures of the fantastic elements to support the words. Is your ad in the appropriate place for a 'premium' offer ? maybe not. PH is great but its not the only way to market it. You might need to think about placing your ad some where 'premium' too. Have you got a facebook and or linkedIn page, get it out there and get your friends waxing lyrical about it, maybe take em for a spin and scare the pants off em, that should get them talking about it, you only need one bite to catch the right punter, good luck with it.

To be fair, the market for gas guzzlers hasn't really changed over that period. Petrol at the time was £1.20 litre - which at the time was a record high.

The fact remains, if it's not selling - the price is too strong for the current market.
