My bikey activity was to find out why my previously-reliable WR450 was running like a sack of 5h1t last time out.
Got the carb off, stripped it down only to find that the pilot screw, along with the spring, o-ring and washer who share it's space, were all missing!
So unless someone sneakily unscrewed it while I was negotiating trees and ruts, it's vibrated itself loose and fallen off! Never come across that before. Definitely explains all the symptoms I was having.
So now to find a supplier of spares for a Keihin FCR.

Had a bikey one yesterday (see the pic thread!), pissing down here today though. Has shown up some alterations that need making to the new shed guttering So - beer in hand - just watched all the calsses of GP and settling down to watch the Thames Pageant. I love boats, even though I've had feck all to do with them!

Went up to the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone today. Drizzly on the way up, drizzly/wet and windy at S'stone, absolutely pissing down most of the way back. But my Halvarssons kit kept me nice and dry, and I made it back from Silverstone to home, just east of Reading, in 53 minutes despite the appalling conditions What a blast ! Respect to the bloke hammering down the M40 on a KTM Duke who must have been feeling the weather a lot more than I was on the R12GS.

And obviously watching TT and GP! Picked the bike up yesterday, but had a van mishap before leaving, so didn't get up there in time to get tax, so can't ride it until Wednesday!! I've never felt so annoyed with a bank holiday! So nice just to go outside and look at it though!!

Just under 1000 miles between here and West Wales and back this weekend, well since Tuesday. The best bits were the B-roads and mountain roads near the west coast. Not too many people about, mostly just my brother and I. Has anyone seen my specs that feel out of my rucksack on the M1?

Met a few Irish lads at the garage this morning heading up too Stranraer for their ferry home. One of them had a puncture and was waiting for the AA.
On the way home passed a local lad at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with a puncture. We waited with him till he was sorted out.
Last couple of miles before home me and Twizellb had a bit of a go too see what was faster between an 09 R1 and ZX12.
He just made it home with a front tyre puncture.

He just made it home with a front tyre puncture. It was flat within 3mls of doing 170+,just aswell home was just under 3 mls away then. As for which was the faster there was literally nothing in it up 170+(I had just got into 5th),BN started 8-10mtrs infront and finished 8-10mtrs infront. His gearing is back to standard now. Consider myself to be a bit lucky under the circumstance's though.

Whilst riding back after the MOT on Sat I lost the front vent on my Schuberth R1. Just went out on the bike to the offending era and parked up to start a fruitless search. About to give up and there it was!

Spent yesterday afternoon fitting an axillary fuse box to run the satnav/chargers/etc off. Makes it a lot neater than the previous rats next of wiring I had under there.

I'm off all week. Nothing bikey sobfar but just arrived at the B&B ahead of a day at Cadwell tomorrow.
Then it's decision time. Do I get the fancy S1000 I've just seen for track or stick with my trusty R1? The R1 is better than I'll ever be, owes me next to nothing and I don't worry if I drop it. The S1000 looks ace, is kitted out fully for track but costs more than I really want to risk on something that will be uninsured if I smash it up.

But what's the point of having a dedicated track bike if you're too scared to ride it in case you drop it?

Off all week and last 2 days of last week too.
So far, I've:
Changed out the KTM's switchgear that was knackered Changed the KTM's broken brake lever Done the Innova's valve clearances Sorted the Innova's binding rear brake (pivot thing seized, but new shoes while I was in there) Detailed the 600RR Wired in my tow bar electrics on the Chevvy for the bike trailer. Test ridden a 2012 blade. Weather now scuppered R1 ride. Had a couple of local thrashes on the CBR.
Later this week I get my BIL's bike back of the Police, so as he had TPF&T, I'm going to fix it up and sell it for him, or break it if the frame's bent. Also plan to get out for a ride with Smack if the weather cheers up.
