Red Victor 3 sets new record

PH-stickered RV3 sets new quarter-mile record for a street legal car

For those who have been following the PH smiley-bearing Red Victor 3, the significance of driver and friend of PH Andy Frost's time at the FIA Main Event at Santa Pod last weekend will be obvious.

But if the 6.59 second quarter-mile he achieved with a top speed of 220mph isn't impressive enough in itself, the fact that this now makes RV3 the world's quickest street-legal car over a quarter mile is genuinely mind-blowing.

Oh, and if you don't believe such a monster can be street legal, have a little look at this video of RV3 on the road...

Well done from all at PH HQ to Andy and all the Red Victor team!

Epic! Absolutely love reading about RV3, such a great car, such a great story smile

You forgot to include MPG and CO2/mile figures in this article though.

Well done Andy and the team - that is quite an achievement

sounds lke the car has been de-tuned to the level of grip in the tyres

does it run on the same tyres it gets mot'd with ?

awesome motor!

Whats with the delayed start? looks like he lost a second off the line confused

(or is that some drag racing 'handicap') ??

Presumably that green turbo'd Superbird isn't a road-legal one? Quite a bit faster than RV3, although that's a mental machine to still pass an MOT.

Yup, Andy's car is, IIRC, the only road-legal FIA Pro Mod in the world...

I'm just sitting here wondering about how that passes emissions and noise regulations during an MOT???
And just wheels and tyres are fitted to pass inspection..

there is no delayed start or handicap in pro modified Andy was probably a bit late on the light while he was tuning his radio wink

I still can't fathom how you can reach 220mph in 6.6 seconds in a road car, utterly insane. That Superbird is beautiful too.

Nice one, you beat the record of Larry Larson's 6.9xx street legal record.

In (this class of) drag racing qualifying, your reaction time is not important, only your "elapsed time"... that is to say the time it takes you from leaving the startline to crossing the finish line.

Reaction time is only really important in the knockout "Eliminations" stage.

Sure he knows that and I think Larrys record was 6.75.
