....and it came in the form of a W209 CLK55. Just picked her up. There are some monster big engine bargains out there if you don't do big miles / have deep pockets (I am the former!). Aside from one or two minor electrical points to remedy she feels like new.

Wow the engine - 376bhp has never fealt so accessible - sounds like a bloody NASCAR. People turn around to see what is coming up the road.....and I'm not flooring it.

I have owned an Z3 MCoupe and it blows that into the weeds in terms of real world speed. Other things - flappy paddle gearbox (or full auto) is actually pretty good. Handling is flat and firm but yet to really push her. Brakes are prodigiously good for such a lump (not a massive car but 2,000kg+).

Hit me with yours.......

Congrats, great buy & bargain too. BTW, I reckon your car is about 1600/1700kg as they are based on a C-Class.

Citroen C1 the other day, for six grand, nearest comparable one was nearer seven, ok it doesnt sound like a Nascar but it has an interesting three pot hum.

My 944 Cab was £4250, owner had spent six on it in three years, most go for 5 grand and up.

650 quid. Gave me 6 months/12k miles trouble free motoring before comprehensively leaking various fluids out of places it shouldn't. Sold it for 1000 GBP. Happy days smile

1,070 GBP. 5 months and 6k miles. Sold for 1,250. Still running well when sold, but suspected failure on the horizon. Good fun with 250bhp as well smile

Current steed. 2,350 GBP. 2004 V70 D5. Needed a good clean. Done 1k per week in it since picking up. Going well.

thumbup Enjoy!

I've got some rumbly brakes from the track day which I believe is a case of pad deposits - hopefully easily resolved.

Jack the car 3ft in the air, whilst working under it with no axle stands - obviously!

Great looking cars, particularly in black. Seriously considering an AMG as my next car, particularly the W203 C55 AMG.
