Might anyone have any good tips on nice roads in the Black Forest as it's one area that I've not really explored.
A good recommendation of a lunch stop is also welcome.

Try the Germany or Holidays forum as the Black Forest isn't in Switzerland.

Plenty of good hooning roads in the southern Black Forest. For example try any of the n/s valleys running down towards the Rhine but avoid the B500 like the plague, notorious blitzer and biker road and lots of accidents....
Can give you plenty of round trips but don't "do" restaurants as I live here... drop me a PM if you want any specifics

I like the ones going North-South in the southern part. It's worth doing early morning or later in the day as it can get busy. Watch out for the bikers, in fact several of the roads are no-bikers at busy periods due to the number of accidents.
I haven't really found any bad roads, and you can go from very-twisty-in-the-woods to fast-and-flowing-through-fields in a few minutes. You can understand why a GT3 is set up like it is.

I've been driving there a lot since the last 5 years. The best parts IMO are to be found in the south.
Here are some to take note of:
Albtal (from Albruck heading north) - superb, a bit narrow
Steinatal (Waldshut-Tiengen to before Bonndorf)
Schlüchttal (Ühlingen-Birkendorf to Gurtweil) - very nice, similar to Albtal
Bernau to Präg - very nice
Präg to Todtmoos - very nice
Wehratal (Wehr to Todtmoos) - nice, like Albtal but not as narrow, quicker
Todtnau to Schauinsland (old Hillclimb Road) - superb, and closed for bikers on weekends
From Schauinsland down to Ober-Münstertal (heading by the Belchen back towards Todtnau) - very nice
Kandel (North of Schauinsland; Sankt Peter to Waldkirch) - narrow, but very nice
I guess it depends on where you're coming from? It's easy to combine good roads in the black forest. You can start around Kaiserstuhl at the border, head up the Steinatal, down the Schlüchtal, up the Albtal, then, turn left and short-cut past St. Blasien to get on the road that leads to Todtmoos (very nice), then from there, head to Präg for another nice road. There either drive back via Bernau / Schluchsee and back the Steina or Schlüchttal in reverse OR drive to Todtnau and from there go to Schauinsland (which is always worth the drive) - drive Schauinsland down, turn around, up, then either take the (Ober-) Münstertal back towards Todnau past the Belchen OR head further up north to Kandel / Simonswald. There's more up there, Triberg, Oberprächtal which are also very nice roads. The highest density of nice roads you will find though, are in the south.
Avoid driving fast along Schluchsee and Titisee and most larger roads headnig through big villages. I hear on nice days, they do a quite a bit of speeding checking (though I have seldom encountered any). Also avoid the route over the Feldberg - it's boring.

Can only re-iterate what others have said, a lot of great roads up there, which in many ways I prefer the Alps - not least because pretty easy to get to from Zurich. This is my 'Sunday afternoon loop', which takes in a lot of the good routes already mentioned. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=2061633609969...It takes in the tight twisty valley roads, with some slightly more flowing hilly sections in between - I do it clockwise. A good variation (but only if traffic is very light - early evening Sunday for example) is to continue on the 500 after the Schluchsee rather than turning off towards Rothaus. Its a fast open road, with fantastic series of downhill sweeping corners as you come in towards Waldshut.

The main roads can get very busy - the smaller roads less so, but still a lot of bikers. You can always enjoy the scenery if you're in slow traffic...

When I'm visiting the MIL near Wehr I always am up before 6am if I'm off for a drive. You will have the roads entirely to yourself at that time of the morning.
