I have seen one series, 3rd or 4th not sure. It was on every night on BBC last year, it was pretty good.
For those that have not seen it, it starts from series one next Tuesday.

You should definitely watch it from the beginning. Is it Sky Atlantic it starts on?

Yes, Tuesday Sky Atlantic, 9pm.
I don't watch shows unless it's from S1E1. So there are plenty of shows that are talked about that I won't enter/watch unless they restart them, caught a glimpse of MM and it certainly piqued my interest to try and catch it when it gets repeated, and it is!

I always envy someone who hasn't seen Mad Men/The Sopranos/The Wire and is about to due to the enjoyment of watching either of these extremely high-class shows for the very first time.

Enjoy - you won't be disappointed.

I'm still to watch both The Sopranos and The Wire, a week of box sets may have to happen.

Mad Men confuses me. There is not a single character I like in it, yet I have watched all 4 seasons and been entertained.

I find them all hateful. It goes against my normal idea of entertainment.

This is why I think it's Genius. They are all really flawed people, but played to a tee.

Found this series a few months ago and I'm on series 3 now. Love the whole premise and I usually hate soaps etc but am really enjoying this.

I rented Series 1 from Lovefilm and found it quite dull. All style over substance.

Series 2 is on order but not on the high priority list.

Just finished season 5 on Sky Atlantic; IMO the best season of the five.

In terms of entertainment, definitely the best. I think the ones that are about the agency rather than personal relationships are miles better.

On my second viewing of the Sopranos (halfway through the last series!), only watched the Wire for the first time last year on FX, will have to wait till series 5 is on SA!biggrin

I felt S5 stalled a bit in places. Sure, MM is not plot-driven but i felt the set-up stretched on a bit too long. Still, brilliant stuff and the final 'You only live twice' montage was epic.

I guess it was difficult to come back after such a long break. But it was a lot of awesome.

I have only watched the last 8 or 9 episodes of the current series and quite enjoyed it. Not really sure what put me off when it was first released, but it was probably all the "ground breaking", "must see" hype in the press at the time.

I was actually thinking that it might not be worthwhile starting it over from the first series, but will have to try it now.

I've actually got the first season on DVD but haven't watched it yet. Sounds like a great show.
