I've started riding in to work this week. Haven't done it for a few years. I live 6.6 miles from work, so it's a nice round trip through the small countryside lanes off the main school/commuting run. No major roads, so no traffic to deal with. I don't think I could cycle to work on main roads, it would drive me crazy!

Suprisingly slow on the way in today despite taking my nice bike, my time was about the same as my CX on offroad rubber.

Might have something to do with the way in being all uphill and 3000ft of hill reps last night...

Getting my bike back tonight, I took advantage of Decathlon's free service offer. Can't wait to ride home!

Had to drop the car off for some warranty work this morning and they didn't have anything to lend me so I took my bike.

Cycled from the centre of Southport on the Gold Coast to home (north end of the GC).

35km. total time with traffic was 1hr14

Moving time / average was 30kmh - 1hr9

Was actually quite a nice ride. Traffic wasn't too and and everyone gave me plenty of room.

No breakfast before hand and also no water! doh! Luckily it wasn't too warm

After pulling the trigger on a genesis c de f I have fitted slicks and started cycling the 9 miles each way to work on the lanes, 15 minutes in the car and 30 minutes on the bike, I should have been doing this for years feeling fitter and getting 60 minutes of exercise which is only costing 30 minutes in a fairly hectic work schedule, excellent

The amount of dheads on the road this morning was crazy! So many cars attempting risky over takes and almost hitting on traffic was unimaginable. When the first one did it I thought bloody hell that was close when the 10th one did it on the same stretch of 3 mile road I couldnt believe it!

Having covered 50 miles on the cross bike last night, including 3 laps of Moors Valley I reckon I would have been quicker walking to work this morning....

Went out last night for a 15 mile blast, 2 young teens females just rode out from a dropped kerb to the road without even looking, I brushed past one and swerved the other whilst shouting "FOOOOKIIINNN ELLLLL" in a comedy aggressive tone. They didn't even look, if I was a car or bus they would have been wiped out. Plus its a stretch of road no one does 30 on as well!

Some of the biggest incidents I have had recently have been from other cyclists on the road not cars!

I haven't been to Moors Valley for years. I used to live near Potterne Park, my friends and I used to cycle through there daily.

For those Londoners who usually cross Putney Bridge - are you still crossing it or taking a different route please? I've tried walking over and tried crossing further up, but I don't really like either.

Another 34.9k this morning to go and pick the car up!

Nice to get the rides in early rather than go out at lunch time (I work from home)

Rode in again yesterday - got insanely hot on the last mile of climbing on the way home.

Running this morning. Cycling and swimming tomorrow - trying to shed a few lbs's before hitting the beach.

6 mile run into work this morning. Legs felt bruised after yesterday's physio session but everything now feels like it's moving better thankfully.

Bacon, egg and sausage bap and a coffee for breakfast.

Oddly I have noticed the bike rack where I work has only had one bike in it this week, normally it has 5 or 6. The one is mine. Is it just too hot for people to ride?

yes The bike racks at work have been noticably emptier the last couple of weeks. Obviously the hot, sweaty, stinking tube is a better option hehe

I've ditched commuting for evening rides this week. Much more pleasant to ride after 7pm for me.
